The flat is in a really good location in our view. On a street full of shops and several convenience stores open 10 AM - 11 PM, 50 metres from the beach and the strip of promenade with the usual beach shops full of all you may need to go to the beach (plus a tobacconist and a pharmacy), right by the lift that takes you up to the center of the village and, if you fancy the exercise, at the bottom of the steep street full of steps and shops that meanders up to the center of the village.
It is also the middle point, to the left on the promenade is Playa Bajondillo, then Playamar with several restaurants, cocktail bars and beach shops. Walking to the right on the promenade takes you to Playa La Carihuela (and the fishers' village) after enjoying the views when walking past Torremolinos cape. There's a wealth of places to sit, eat, drink and relax on this side. You can even walk all the way to Benalmádena's Marina.
In addition, there are bigger supermarkets (Mercadona and Supersol) within 15 min walking distance that open until 10 PM.
Gabriel (Marc's father) waited for us patiently until 23:30 for the check-in due to a 2h delayed flight. He was very helpful and pleasant to deal with. Upon our request, he kindly got us a sun shade so he saved us buying one. On the day we left, Gabriel was punctual for the time we agreed for check out and he was keen to learn what we had enjoyed of our stay and what could be done better. He was flexible again allowing us to leave at a convenient time for us.
The apartment was clean and tidy, although the fridge could have cleaner. Unfortunately, the toilet smells a bit due to the pipes and makes the bathroom and the bedroom smell slightly unpleasantly if the toilet lid and door aren't closed at all times. The washing machine is inside the flat in the toilet and the fridge has got a freezer compartment (and three freezer blocks we left behind). Kindly note there is no hair dryer in the flat.
Given its central location, there is a fair bit of activity on the street until close to midnight. The pub The Ship below the apartment closes 2 AM and some of their customers aren't as quite as they should be at times, which is a small nuisance if you are trying to sleep at that time rather than out and about.
The apartment has all the essentials in working order (despite a tad old). It will certainly improve with the changes that Gabriel has in mind and hasn't been able to get done yet.
Overall, a basic and well-located base to spend a few days in Torremolinos.
