The space
How the Home Is Laid Out
The home is thoughtfully designed across three connected sections, allowing large groups to gather together while still enjoying privacy and breathing room:
A 5-bedroom main level, split into two wings (the main house and a private apartment wing), connected by the game garage
A 3-bedroom lower-level entertainment floor beneath the main house
All spaces are fully private to your group and designed for comfort, flexibility, and effortless large-group flow — ideal for multi-generational families or multiple families traveling together.
Welcome to Swimming in the Sunset
Welcome to Swimming in the Sunset, a flagship Fisher 3 Vacation Rentals property where design, space, and experience converge into something unforgettable. Set on four wooded acres directly across from Lake Michigan, this eight-bedroom, five-bath retreat feels more like a private resort than a home — a place built for connection, celebration, and restoration.
Hidden from the road, wrapped in trees, and without a neighbor in sight, the property offers rare seclusion with a scenic trail that leads to the Lake Michigan shoreline in just minutes.
From the moment you arrive, the home sets a tone of relaxed luxury. Sunlight filters through the trees and oversized windows, reflecting off custom woodwork and soft coastal tones. The great room hums with life — the chef’s kitchen anchors the space, conversations flow easily, and the 26-seat dining table waits for long meals that stretch late into the evening. Everything here was designed with intention: gather big, rest deeply, and leave refreshed.
Main House
Step through the grand entry into an open-concept living space designed for effortless togetherness. The scale is impressive, but it’s the ease of the layout that defines the experience — conversations naturally gather around the kitchen island, meals unfold around the expansive dining table, and multiple seating areas invite everyone to settle in.
The main level features six beautifully curated bedrooms offering hotel-level comfort with personality. Premium bedding, layered lighting, and thoughtful design details ensure restful nights after sun-filled days. Four full bathrooms keep mornings smooth, even with a full house. Each wing offers privacy while remaining seamlessly connected — perfect for large families, reunions, or group retreats.
Guest Apartment
Attached yet entirely its own, the two-bedroom, one-bath apartment provides a peaceful retreat within the larger estate. With a full kitchen, living area, and fireplace, it’s ideal for grandparents, in-laws, or anyone who appreciates a quieter pace — early mornings with coffee, or a calm place to unwind after a full day outdoors.
Game Lounge
When the group reconvenes, the converted, heated garage becomes the heartbeat of the home. This immersive game lounge is built for evenings that turn into memories: an 85" TV anchors a massive sectional, arcade games glow, shuffleboard invites friendly competition, and shelves of board games keep everyone engaged. Equal parts rec room, lounge, and nostalgia trip, it’s where nights naturally unfold.
The Outdoor Experience
This is where Swimming in the Sunset truly earns its name.
The heated pool (85°, open May through October, additional fee) becomes the centerpiece of warm-weather stays, reflecting golden light as the sun dips behind the trees. Multiple outdoor gathering spaces invite you to linger — from the gas fire pit to the wood-burning fire pit made for s’mores and late-night stories.
A full outdoor cooking setup includes a Blackstone griddle, standard gas grill, and a show-stopping tiki bar that turns casual afternoons into unforgettable evenings. With multiple seating zones spread across the property, everyone can find their perfect spot — whether poolside, fireside, or beneath the open Michigan sky.
