What a special place! Located in complete isolation and overlooking the valley. We rode with horses, lit a campfire next to the hut and swam in the nearby waterfall. The communication was perfect and the local family very nice and helpful. Definitely recommendable!

This is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been... the team is extremely kind and supportive... this is a place for those who want to spend time in a breathtaking place and are willing to give up comfort and connectivity in exchange. I loved every second of it.

Andres and the whole team were excelent hosts. The house is located in a beautiful place, in the middle of nature. A perfect spot to get away, relax, and enjoy the sounds of the birds and wind. The food was delicious and the horse ridding is one of the best things i have done. Highly recomended! ;)

This was my second visit to the "Eagle's Peak" cabin. With mist in the afternoon and thunderstorms at night, the scenery was transformed and wilder, but equally beautiful. We once again enjoyed delicious meals prepared by cook Marcela and taken up by horseback, and appreciated the thoughtful care by the rest of the family/ crew: I feel I have made new friends. This time I was accompanied by my two children, 5 and 7, and my parents, who are in their early 70s. With horses to help get everyone up the mountain, a wonderful time was had by all. This is a special place, and it is evident that Andrés is successfully making it a sustainable community venture. I hope to return again.

Andrés waited several hours for us at a gas station--we got a flat tire--to drive with us the remaining hour to his spectacular property. After taking a dirt road part-way up a mountain, we began our ascent (1 hour straight up) to the tallest peak where the cabin is located. The delightful family that manages the logistics of the stay kindly lent their horses to my young daughter and 70-year-old aunt to make it to the top. The cabin is small but cozy with a wood burning stove and bunk beds. (There is no electricity or hot water.) The stars at night and the sunrise were spectacular; the food delivered up to the cabin for dinner and breakfast couldn't have been fresher or more tasty; the warm attention of our guides was superlative. This is a special place for people who want a true adventure experience in some of the most beautiful scenery in the state of Hidalgo. Highly recommended! We will return!

A marvelous experience. We were living on the top of a mountain in a superbly build cabin surrounded by tall pines. To the east we watched a sunrise moving above the fog in the valley below. We made coffee on a wood-burning stove that as well heats the cabin. And then sat outside warmed by the sun waiting for our breakfast, which was brought to us on horseback by Nicolas and Maricela, members of the community below, a community responsible for caring for this beautiful reserve. Other community members came with horses and took us on a tour of the upper reaches of the reserve. (We need to return again to discover the river and land of the valley below.) When we looked to the west, there were more pine-covered hills. In the night, we went outside to rediscover the carpet of stars that we had forgotten about while living in the light-filled city. We mention the community, because this is their land to preserve and care for. This seems to us authentic ecotourism that gives the community a way to live and labor, (they are improving the path to the cabin, guides, etc.) while being excellent stewards to the reserve. All in all, we had a wonderful time. Come and enjoy.
