Our renovated 50's era home in East Nashville has its own 3/4 acre lake in the front yard. Your room opens on to a deck where you can sit and enjoy our private little park only 3.5 miles from downtown.

The space

Our home is situated on 2 acres but in an urban neighborhood. We are 3 1/2 miles from downtown and about a mile from 5 points, located in the historic Lockeland Springs neighborhood. East Nashville has so many great restaurants that you really don't have to leave this part of town, and several popular ones (Two Ten Jack, Wild Cow, Rosepepper & Jeni's Ice cream) are within a mile. We are close to I-24, 40 & 65 as well as Ellington Pkwy which allow you to go just about anywhere in Nashville in about 20 minutes. And we are also only minutes from Titan Stadium. We are also permitted by the city.

Guest access

Your room has a private entrance and it's own private bath but we also have a lovely screened in porch that is a great place to just chill if you'd like to join us. The porch also has a fireplace that allows use of the porch except on the most bitter winter days. We have lots of places outside to sit and just enjoy doing nothing. Your room has a flat screen TV, a desk/dressing table and a small fridge, microwave, toaster oven and coffee maker for your convenience with basic breakfast needs. Limited use of the kitchen is okay, just leave it tidy when done. We can accommodate two very comfortably. We have a washer and dryer that you can use as well as an iron and ironing board. We also have a Pack'n'Play if needed. Just let one of us know and we will show you where everything is located.

Interaction with guests

We love sharing our home and will interact as much or as little as you like. We share our home with our terrier Louie who barks at anyone coming in, including us. Our African Grey Koko aka our alarm clock, can be very entertaining and you are welcome to visit him but be aware, if you hear the phone ringing or the dog barking continuously, it's Koko. He even fools us. He will rarely talk in front of you and please know he does bite, even people who live with him.

Catherine & David's place is exactly as described...and Urban Oasis. Despite being just 10 min. drive from the walking bridge to the downtown/Broadway entertainment and Nissan Stadium destinations in one direction, and 10 minutes to the trendy East Nashville area in the other direction, it feels like you are miles from the city. The pictures show the beauty and tasteful accommodations nut what you can't "see in the pictures are the hospitality and personalities of this couple! They eagerly offered helpful suggestions when we asked and had great tips and tricks to "do Nashville"...like how to park FREE just feet from the foot bridge to the downtown district and suggesting a great Italian restaurant nearby. We felt like we had our own personal "trip advisors"

You can't go wrong staying at Cathryne and David's. the house and grounds are incredible, I was lucky enough to be there for the eclipse and we had an awesome view of it. I was made to feel really welcome, but also could have as much privacy as i wanted too. It is a little bit of a drive into town, but it's easy to either park at Nissan Stadium for free and walk, or get a quick uber/lyft. I can't recommend staying here highly enough!

We had a great stay at Cathryne and David's place! Their home is truly an oasis; you feel like you are out in the country, but are in fact just a few minutes by car to the 5 Points neighborhood and downtown Nashville. The hosts are welcoming and kind and made us feel right at home. We would definitely stay again. Thank you!!

Cathryne & David's place is even better than the photos are. We were definitely pleased with their friendliness and overall quality of the room. The bedroom was clean and stocked with amenities. The location is secluded and quiet while still being in East Nashville; you really feel like you are not in the city. Meanwhile, we were only two minutes from several quality restaurants and bars. Highly recommend!

We had a great time! Lovely house in a good location, Cathryne and David are friendly and accommodating. Nashville is a wonderful city. Bed is really comfortable, they provide anything you could need. Helped us when we needed and let us have our space the rest of the time. The lake has fish in it, and the parrot isn't an issue at all. Would definitely stay there again

What a way to start and end the day... sitting out on the deck overlooking this beautiful oasis...with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine,

We are from South Florida and the Bahamas originally. We moved to Nashville after selling our architectural stained glass business in 2000. In 2001 we found our dream property and we knew we could remodel the house into our dream home, which we did in 2008. We enjoy having friends and family over on a regular basis for dinner, wine on the porch or just chatting. We travel when we can but when you live in a park its really hard to leave.
