Francesca, we've been so busy traveling (Drew's company and Bunmi's medical research), as we really hoped to have met you this time around. We try to meet as many guests as possible but our schedules do not always allow for this. We hope that you understand.
Nevertheless, regarding the guest room door lock, we wished that you had let us know or our family member, who watches the place when we're not there, so that we could've immediately corrected the problem. Privacy and the best experience for our guests is our upmost priority.
As far as the neighborhood, it's very historic, as numerous jazz greats and musicians, such as Minnie Riperton, who is the late mother of the standout comedian, actress and former Saturday Night Live cast member, Maya Rudolph, have called it home. Still, the area is up-and-coming, and like places in other cities, notably Park Slope, Clinton Hills and Ft. Greene, Brooklyn, the neighborhood is being transformed right before our eyes into something magical. We love it, especially the nearby beach and harbor at 31st St., featuring a cafe with live entertainment, making for a memorable time to take in Chicago's breathtaking skyline.
This is one of the reasons we've decided to share our home with people from every corner of the world. To see the reactions and look of amazement on the faces of our many new friends who have stayed with us, when we take them just a few blocks away to the see the lakefront, like the lovely young ladies from New Zealand in late Spring '14, gives us such joy.
Of course, making a stay at our place at an affordable price enables us to welcome people to the city that we love. This is something we take great pleasure in doing, and we are so privileged to be a part of the Airbnb host community.
Thank you again for staying with us and your feedback. We hope that you'll stay with us again if you ever return to The Windy City.
God bless you!
