The space

An inexpensive place to stay in Vilnius.

It's not a specially rented apartment: I simply rent one room in a three-room flat where I live and work myself and will be happy to see guests from around the world. The building is 200 m away from the main street which guarantees peace and quiet at all times.

LOCATION: 1 km from Akropolis (the largest shopping and entertainment centre in the Baltics), about 10 minutes by car/taxi (approx. EUR 5.30) or 25 minutes by bus (EUR 0.72) to the very heart of the city.

ACCOMMODATION: The room is 12 sq. m and can accommodate 4 people. It has a balcony where you can have a smoke (if you are still into it).

The room is fully furnished with a sofa bed, bedside tables, a wardrobe, a full-length mirror, an arm-chair, a computer desk with a chair). Folding beds can be added for 2 extra people. Those sleeping on folding beds enjoy 50% discount from the base price.

Bed linen as well as towels are provided.

There is also:
- a large kitchen with a cooking plate, a
microwave oven and a fridge
- a bathroom with a sink, a bathtub and a shower
- a separate toilet

- free parking lot just near the house
- attendant parking lot in 200 m from the house
- free fast wireless Internet access
- free cable TV with approx. 50 channels in English, French, German, Polish, Russian, Byelorussian and Lithuanian
- well-developed local infrastructure with lots of shops, restaurants and cafes, as well as a fitness centre (everything in 3-5 minutes walk)
- in 300 m from the house a nice grove suitable for jogging or any other physical exercises

- washing machine
- home gym, indoor bike, adjustable dumbbells, push up bars
- interpretation/translation and guide services

I will be happy to welcome you, show you around and make sure you settle in comfortably.

Nikita was very helpful host and will explain to make things easier for you while you in Vilnius. I was having problem with my laptop screen for work and he was kindly let me use his monitor. The flat is a typical ex Soviet exterior and interior which made it is special for some looking for differences, just like walking through in the past. Thanks Nik!

Although Nikita's apartment isn't really within walking distance of the centre, there are frequent and cheap buses which run from his place. There are also several large supermarkets nearby and a large shopping centre, should you need any supplies. Nikita is helpful about all aspects of your stay, and his English is excellent. The entire apartment is clean and tidy. If you're OK with the location I can recommend it.

It's already the second time that I came to Vilnius as a tourist. It didn't take me long to decide where to stay, because the previous time I stayed at Nikita's and I liked everything: an acceptable price, a good area near the forest, many shopping centers nearby, it's easy to get to the city center. It was easy to contact Nikita and discuss the details. Nikita is hospitable and he is an interesting interlocutor. We became friends, he showed me the city and introduced interesting people. I recommend this place to everyone for temporary residence in Vilnius.

I spent a week in Vilnius at Nikita's place. Nik is a cordial and friendly host. If you are interested in nonconventional Vilnius, Nikita can help you to know it. I returned back to Ukraine with a bunch of bright impressions. Nik is also an extraordinary personality and interesting interlocutor. You can talk with him not only about Vilnius, but also about music, history and many other subjects. It was a real pleasure to stay at this place and I would recommend it to everybody.

Nikita is a super host! He strikes the right balance of attentiveness and allowing for independence. He surprised us with a hearty breakfast that included some of his cultural favorites. We enjoyed our conversations with him and appreciated his flexibility in our comings and goings. If you're looking for an economical, genuine airbnb experience and don't mind the bus ride outside of the city, Nikita's place is a good choice.

We spent four days at Nikita flat, which was a great time. We were greeted very warmly and immediately welcomed the Lithuanian traditional dishes. Nikita told us a lot of interesting places in Lithuania. He was an inspiration to us, He can tell about Lithuania more than we can found in our guidebook! Evenings we spent a pleasant time for talks. Thanks Nikita, we know not only monuments, but also real life in Lithuania. We highly recommend! What is the best host you can imagine!

Nikita is a very interesting person in all senses. He has been extremely kindful with us and whe have discussed about many different subjects during hours. The appartment is not far from the center with a bus. When you're inside you feel like travelling in the soviet period with all these pictures and objects that you see everywhere. He also likes to make jokes and we loved our discussions. You'll feel like at home. You won't find a better place. I highly recommend it to you. Estela from SPAIN and Fabrice from FRANCE.

I'm a freelance Translator/Interpreter, Journalist & Voiceover Pro. I translate, interpret and record voiceovers in many domains. In journalism my specialisation is Music.

Music is also at the top of the things I love. A former hard-rocker nowadays I'm more into the jazzy, bluesy and folkish stuff, as well as reggae, country, world music and singers-songwriters. I do prefer natural acoustic sound and can hardly stand electronic music. Among my faves are such acts as The Beatles, Big Mama Thornton, Борис Гребенщиков, Ben Webster, Bob Marley, Cesaria Evora, late Chris Rea, Deep Purple, Django Reinhardt, Ella Fitzgerald, Гарик Сукачев, Goran Bregovic, Hazmat Modine, J.J. Cale, Joan Baez, Kris Kristofferson, Leonard Cohen, Louis Armstrong, Ольга Арефьева, Otros Aires, Peter Cincotti, Lhasa, Peter Green, Tadeusz Nalepa, The Platters and many others.

Though I personally never was a real hippie I sympathize with the people from the Flower Power movement since my young years. But I am strongly against the use of drugs.

Among the things I disdain are political radicalism, nationalism, nazism and Soviet-type communism (or so called stalinism).

I think that's all I wanna tell you about myself now. :-)
