Room in a home

Your own room in a home, plus access to shared spaces.
A comfortable single room with private bathroom (not ensuite). Our house is part of a converted chapel in the thriving village of Slaithwaite. Close to numerous cafes, bars, pubs and restaurants. A canal along the Main Street. Lots of great walks in the area. About 3 miles from Pennine Way. We are currently allowing one night of no occupancy between guests to help prevent transmission of COVID19.

The space
A great location only 2 minutes' walk from the station. Good transport links to Leeds, Manchester, York and Huddersfield. Our house is a late Victorian converted chapel with amazing views from the guest rooms and garden over the surrounding countryside. We also have a large room with king size bed and ensuite bathroom.

Guest access
Guests will have access in their room to wifi. There is a desk and chair in the room. They will have a private bathroom though this is not ensuite.

During your stay
We will be around to offer assistance to guests.

Slaithwaite is a thriving village with lots of small artisan and creative businesses. There are numerous cafes, bars, restaurants and pubs. There are galleries, an art studio, a yoga studio and gift shops. The local grocery is community-owned and there are frequent community events. Close to the Peak District National Park and Pennine Way, there are great walks in the area including gentle canal walks, hill walks and moor walks.

What's for breakfast: Continental breakfast.
Pets: A rescue Labrador cross called Daphne.
I'm a school teacher and moved back to the UK from Japan in 2015 where we had lived for 16 years.. We have a rescue dog called Daphne at our home in Slaithwaite. After doing Airbnb in my home for several years, in 2024 we extended our accommodation with a self-catering apartment in Scarborough which we also use ourselves and for friends and family.
