Other things to note
We have friends over occasionally and you are welcome to join us if you like. Many of our Airb&b guests have enjoyed meeting our friends, mostly people in the arts, and have become personal friends since their stay.
Having a car is the most convenient, but we have relationships with a number of drivers and cab companies. We can usually drive people to and from places and are happy do so but this is not a guarantee.
We have 4 cats. As much as you may like the way our house looks, if you have pet allergies then this is not the place for you!
- There is no smoking anywhere in the house, but you can smoke outside as long as no trash is left there.
- If you have a dog, we can discuss whether or not you can bring it around as we have 4 cats. You must clean up after your dog in our yard.
-Our pool has a liner and so we are now saying no dogs in the pool. Their nails can destroy the liner, and it is expensive to replace.
- We do have a home office and expect all guests to conduct themselves in a respectful manner during work hours. Guests will be allowed to use all areas of the house, however, please no food in the bedrooms. (We don't want bugs!)
- We recycle, and would like you to do the same.
- We are artists and have lots of books that guests are welcome to browse through.
- You are welcome to have friends over, but please clean up after yourself. No loud music late at night.
- If you have children, we just ask that you watch them so nothing gets broken. Children are not allowed in the pool without supervision
- Young children are fine, but we do not have a gate on the stairs, so you need to watch them carefully.
- there is room for a portable crib in the king room, a bathrub is upstairs that you are welcome to use.
We have moved to Newburgh from New York City and have bought a large house built in 1828. I am a photographer and my husband is in marketing. We have a wonderful sun-filled house on 1.3 acres of land with an in ground pool across the street from a park. Our house is filled with books and photographs and 4 very friendly cats. We both work from home - so there are always people around - but there is a large room downstairs and 2 smaller ones upstairs and the house is quiet. You can come and go as you please, and use all the rooms in the house, unless we are working in the office. If we are working, we would appreciate you respecting our privacy. People become part of our family - or stay to themselves - "whatever" seems to be our motto. People make themselves at home here. We always have had people stay here - but we are now doing airbnb. My husband and I only speak English, but I am sure we can manage with translation apps!. We have books or go on line to translate, so other languages are not an issue. You can see 2 youtube videos of me at work by going to you tube and searching Jill Enfield.
