This was a very disappointing Airbnb experience. The apartment is let through an agency and from start to finish of my booking and stay I got the impression of minimal effort being made by the host.
The apartment itself is fine, a bit tired and basic - cheap Ikea beds, grubby couch, very little in the way of decorations - but it has everything you need. There are no curtains or shutters in the bedrooms to block out the morning light. The wall attachment for the shower was broken as was the hose pipe which made it impossible to shower without drenching the bathroom. The fridge and oven weren't clean and there were dusty cobwebs on the ceilings and walls. Otherwise everything was clean.
The location is residential and there's really nothing much in the area. The tram is very close though and 30 minutes got us into the main train station.
The office where you collect the keys is 16km from the apartment, which is quite far and adds about an hour onto your day, if you have a car, a lot more if you don't. There is no parking outside the office and we found it quite difficult to find. The staff there didn't speak much English, we were in Germany so fair enough, however she wasn't able to describe how to find the apartment, had no printed map or directions and gave us the wrong building number. When we went to the wrong building I messaged Marina to get the right number but got no response. When I then phoned her she was quite curt.
The apartment was also on the top floor of a building with no lift which wasn't mentioned despite the fact that I said I was coming with a 2 month old baby, who has a pram.
There was no information provided in the apartment on anything, for example location of a supermarket, the tram station or the wifi code.
All in I wouldn't recommend the apartment and felt it completely lacked any kind of personal touch.
