We are located in the beautiful Santa Fe Historical East side district within walking distance to Canyon Road restaurants and art galleries, and only a 5 minute drive to the Plaza. Casita Encantador is in a unique part of Santa Fe, nestled directly above the Santa Fe River providing a lush view of Sun and Moon Mountain. We are 350 yds. from Upaya Zen Center, a short drive to Ten Thousand Waves, Santa Fe Photographic Workshops, St. Johns College and The Santa Fe Institute.

The space

Spencer and I welcome you to our casita in Santa Fe. This adobe was lovingly built with the hands of Spencer and myself and a few fabulous local artisans. If you have never stayed in an adobe home, you will have the wonderful experience of "being held". In addition, it's an amazing insulator so no matter what the weather outside you will always be at a comfortable temperature inside. One will appreciate hand plastered walls, custom tiles, and a custom built hutch with a mini fridge inside. We offer our guests freshly brewed coffee or, if you prefer, there is an electric kettle with an assortment of complementary organic teas. The bed is made up with a down comforter and pillows along with plush towels for the shower. We are sticklers for cleanliness, so even the duvet cover is washed prior to your arrival. We feel it important to let our guests know the shower, as custom-tiled as it is, is a single stall (30"x27"). The casita itself is 300 sq. ft. The bank of windows allows for a bright and airy room with views to Sun and Moon Mountain. Dark room blinds allow you to sleep as late as you want. Summer mornings on the patio is the perfect place to enjoy a cup of coffee or tea while you enjoy the diversity of birds and cool summer morning breezes. We are in a very lush part of Santa Fe, with the Santa Fe River below us offering a canopy of trees. It truly is an enchanting space.

Guest access

Hosts live in main house but the casita has its own private entrance and private patio. You will have access to the entire flagstone patio off of the casita and main house.

Interaction with guests

Spencer and I are here for you should you need recommendations for restaurants, places to hike, planning cultural destinations, or simply hanging out as the locals. First and foremost, we will be giving you your privacy, so if you want our interaction, we invite you to our back door anytime, or if you are more comfortable to call or text, our phones are always within ear shot.

Other things to note

We are a stone's throw from the Upaya Zen Center offering daily meditations and weekly dharma talks. We are close to St. John's College, The Santa Fe Institute, and the Santa Fe Photographic Workshops. We are just a 5 minute drive to Museum Hill offering some of the best museums on Native American arts and culture, folk art, and Spanish colonial art.
Walk along the Santa Fe River to the Tea House on Canyon Road to enjoy a cup of chai and then continue exploring Canyon Road's art galleries. Our casita is close to downtown, yet feels serenely rural.

Our experience at Casita Encantador can only be described as perfect! Paddy and Spencer were the most amazing hosts - so warm and genuine - and made us feel right at home. The Casita was built by them and you can certainly feel the love they put into it, every detail is exquisite. We had a wonderful stay and recommend that anyone going to Santa Fe should not consider anywhere else to stay but here. Thank you Paddy and Spencer for such a memorable time in your wonderful city!

A very cozy place perfect for a couples retreat or in my case, in town for business. Easy and quick access to the Plaza and in a very scenic location. Paddy and Spencer are the perfect hosts. I’m definitely coming back.

Where to start! I️ loved the casita so much! I️ highly recommend staying here for a peaceful nights sleep, gorgeous views and beautifully built space. Great location up in the mountains but close to town, and Patty and her husband were wonderful hosts. Hope to be back next time I’m in Santa Fe.

I can't say enough about how wonderful a place this is, and how wonderful our stay was! The Casita is a little oasis of calm, and was so cozy and comfortable. We were there for Thanksgiving, and on the day couldn't even get ourselves to leave until about 2 pm-- we just kept drinking tea and reading and looking at the beautiful view. The space is beautifully decorated but not precious-- it is very welcoming. It is a short drive (5-10 minutes) to the Plaza, and walkig distance to Canyon Road where the galleries are, and yet feels more rural than that. We really felt the attention to detail and warmth of Paddy and Spencer as hosts. The communication was excellent, and they were very mindful of our privacy. Guests are welcome to make coffee and tea, and also to make a fire in the wood stove (we didn't but you could!). The shower was really good too, which was a big plus for us. We did have trouble with our GPS getting confused when finding their place, but from Paddy's instructions we knew to expect it (one other thing to note is that the "lip" leading into the driveway (necessary for the rainy season) may require those in low-slung rental cars to angle in.). We would stay again in a heartbeat, and will be telling everyone we know about this gem!

Outstanding decor, thoughtful touches, great amenities and a stunning setting make this Casita a perfect place to stay. It’s a 15 minutes walk into Santa Fe but the setting feels much more remote. Paddy and Spencer are lovely and accessible but have designed the Casita to allow for plenty of privacy.
