Villa 232 is a cosy hide-away whose back garden gate opens directly onto beautiful Dutch Bay. It has recently been lovingly restored, maintaining the footprint of its original, quirky and narrow Sri Lankan design, while incorporating a feel of crisp yet rustic modern comfort. Tucked unassumingly into charming residential Dyke Street, the villa is perfect for a couple looking for a unique romantic beach home, or can serve as a cosy beachfront get-away for groups of up to four.
Villa 232 is a townhouse on a quaint residential street that backs right onto the crystal clear turquoise waters of Dutch Bay. Along with our neighbouring property Villa 238 it is closer to the ocean than any other villa we know of in Sri Lanka - the back garden gate opens directly onto the beautiful beach.
The bedroom and living room are air conditioned. The living room has a 40" TV with cable TV and a home library of movies and TV shows for guests to enjoy. A stereo system and portable bluetooth speaker are also provided.
Right outside the villa on the beach guests can relax on cushioned sunbeds under a large umbrella.
Guest will have their own keys and the whole place to themselves, with staff available when needed for cleaning, sweeping etc.
Interaction with guests
The owners Kian and Janah usually stay nearby, a few doors down on the same street. We have an unobtrusive style of hosting - we will do everything we can to make your stay comfortable and you will be able to reach us 24/7 with any questions / concerns. You will have the place completely to yourself with your own set of keys - nobody will be in your way unless you request it.
We are always more than happy to provide any help, advice or local tips that we can about sightseeing around Trincomalee / Sri Lanka etc.
Other things to note
Free wifi, complimentary mineral water, quality tea and coffee and complimentary toiletries are provided.
Two bicycles are provided for guest to use.
A full cooked Sri Lankan or Western Breakfast is included. Other meals available on request.
We also provide info and can advise you on all the various eating out / take-away / and delivery options in the area.
IMPORTANT NOTE ON SEASONAL WEATHER:
October to March is the rainy season in Sri Lanka's North-East. (The opposite timing to the South West of the island.) There is still a perfectly good chance of sunny days and weeks. However throughout this period (and from our experience especially in November, December and January) rain is quite possible and the sea and beach conditions may well be different than they are in the pictures from high season. (Low season pricing is set accordingly).
All this applies to the entire North East of Sri Lanka of course - we just want to make sure our guests know what to expect at that time of year :)
We only ask that guests treat the place with respect and consideration as if it were their own. In the event of any accidental damage please just notify us. Smoking in outdoor areas only please.
Check-in / check out can be pretty flexible on days there isn't another party checking in/out on the same day.
We do not provide drivers' accommodation but their are many places for drivers to stay very nearby. DRIVERS AND TOUR GUIDES MAY NOT STAY IN THE VILLA - NO EXCEPTIONS.

We are an English / American couple who moved to Sri Lanka five years ago. (Kian is also half Sri Lankan).
We have an apartment in Colombo and a couple of properties on the beach in Trincomalee.
We design our properties with love and care for our own usage and with tourist rental in mind.
We have an unobtrusive style of hosting - you will have the place completely to yourself with your own set of keys. However, we want to do everything we can to make your stay as comfortable as possible, so if you need anything, we're always available to help you with anything you need.
