We had such an amazing time here! I'd call Seán's place a lodge-style accommodation with big shared spaces downstairs and private rooms upstairs. The bathrooms are technically shared with other guests, but there are plenty of them and each feels private (it's not the locker room style bathrooms that you might picture when you hear "lodge"). Everything was sparkling clean, new, and comfortable. The view from our bedroom window was breathtaking. Seán was also a great host! He met us when we arrived and took the time to explain many of his favorite destinations on the island and how to get to them. He also gave us passes that got us in to see Dun Aonghasa for free. He stayed up waiting up for us to get back to the lodge that night, which was too nice of him. He even had boiled water ready for us to make tea, which was the cherry on top of a perfect but long day of sightseeing. He also woke up to have breakfast ready in time and talk to us during the morning for our somewhat early departure. I would easily recommend this place! It might seem like far away from the pier and main town when you look at it on a map, but you have to remember that the island is very small, and you'll probably be on bikes anyway. I would love to some day be able to come back and stay here for longer.
