The space

Welcome to Strathcona -- one of Vancouver's most sought-after neighbourhoods!

This studio suite offers high ceilings, gorgeous bay windows, exposed beams and polished concrete. It is the garden level of our beautiful heritage house, located right next to downtown. The house has been meticulously renovated, and the suite is wonderfully appointed and finished to the highest standards, including a soaker tub and heated towels in the bathroom, private entrance, flat screen TV with Apple TV and Netflix, wireless fibre optic internet, queen-sized bed with luxury sheets, sectional sofa, and open-concept kitchen/dining area. There is beautiful landscaping in the gardens outside, and the house is literally steps from MacLean Park, in the heart of the neighbourhood.

There is lots of street parking right out front, and the house is a block from several wonderful delis, grocers and cafes. There's even a fantastic cheese shop less than three blocks away! Best of all, it is ten minutes' stroll to historic Gastown, five minutes to the seawall in False Creek, ten minutes to Rogers Arena. There are frequent buses less than two blocks away, as well as a nearby Skytrain station.

Enjoy the pleasure of your own front door! You will be amazed by the peace and tranquility, so conveniently located in the heart of the city. This suite is fully equipped and an ideal 'home away from home' for travelers seeking short or long-term accommodation, and an alternative to uncomfortable hotels. No elevators, no undergraound parking -- instead, we have a lock-box system in place for the key, so it's easy to arrive at your leisure.

Absolutely no smoking! We're totally gay-friendly and family-friendly. We have a young daughter, so we have to make sure everything is alright by her. We ask that guests park on the opposite side of the street, as it is permit-only parking in front of the house.

Really lovely basement apartment, perfect for our short stay. Great location and walking distance from the city / waterside. The apartment was great value, very clean, and very comfortable. A definite recommend.

The place is quite spacious and check in is really easy. We didn't hear from the hosts or receive any sort've welcome which was a shame, especially after such a long flight, we were hungry and knackered! I'm a really light sleeper so i wouldn't recommend this place if you're the same (especially if you aren't an early riser). Its situated in the basement of the house so you can hear everything above you (lots of footsteps and voices). The boiler also kept me awake as it goes on and off throughout the night. The area itself is lovely and quiet with a few cute little shops/cafes. I think it would be best having a car but you can walk around too (just avoid Hastings st as the hosts suggest). The kitchen is great, plus the use of the apple tv if you fancy a cosy night in. I can imagine a lot of people loving this place, its just a shame i'm not a great sleeper!

We loved the appartment, everything about it was as described and very comfortable for our stay. The area is very convenient for access to downtown Vancouver but felt quiet and tranquil.

Great accommodation in a lovely house in a quiet road to the east of the city, but only two blocks away from East Hastings Road which some people describe as a 'no go area'. We had no problems walking back from the city, through Chinatown, but were well aware of the 'edgier' side of Vancouver.

Hi! Thanks for visiting my page... I'm a mother and a storyteller, living and working in the world's most beautiful city. I love design, architecture, and cooking great food. I travel a lot, and can't stand boring hotels -- so my suites are outfitted to be what I look for: a perfect home away from home. I truly love Vancouver and the neighbourhood of Strathcona and hope that you will too!
