This basement level suite is a wonderful new-built space with lots of natural light, privacy and views of our little urban homestead and the mountain beyond it. It is the perfect spot from which to explore Asheville and the surrounding mountains. Located on the city side of West Asheville, it is an easy walk to the paths and parks along the French Broad River and just two miles from the downtown. Great for couples and small groups of friends, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families.
There is a private bedroom with a full size bed and one full bath. The space has a large living space with a TV (no cable- but a Playstation 3 for accessing Netflix and watching movies) and lots of games and books. There is a small table for sipping coffee in the morning or to use as a work station.
For visitors with children, there are loads of board games and books that can be enjoyed during your stay as well as a collection of toys that can be pulled from the bedroom closet.
The private bedroom has a full size bed and there are two twin sized IKEA bed mats that can be made up on the floor in the living space for sleeping 4 people total. All sheets, blankets and towels are provided.
Guests are welcome to ample, free street parking. The basement suite is on a separate level than our living space, is easy to access and has a private entrance.
Guests are welcome to use the backyard for daytime lounging, exploring the gardens, and playing in the big yard (especially nice for children).
Interaction with guests
When we are home, we are happy to welcome our guests and give them guidance or ideas for their visit to Asheville. We are also happy to give our guests as much privacy as they desire, if they are not interested in conversation.
Although the basement suite is on a separate level with a private entrance, we will be feeding our chickens and tending our garden, so it is likely there will be some interaction with us. We have children of our own and two cats, so please be prepared for average daily household noises above you.
That said, we are very conscientious and observe quiet hours at night and in the morning to respect our guests. We ask that you do the same. We are a family and wish for guests who are willing to respect a family environment.
Other things to note
We are a busy family of four with cats and chickens. On weekdays, typical getting-ready-for-school/work noises will occur, but we leave a quiet house behind and are most often gone for the bulk of the day. On weekends we typically sleep later and are busy with sports and adventures throughout the days.
We ask that you be respectful of quiet hours between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m., including in the outdoor spaces. We also ask that you respect our belongings in the space, use and enjoy the games, books, etc. but please leave them in the fashion you find them.
Our space is family friendly scene and is strictly non-smoking, even in the outdoor spaces. Thank you.
