The place was a perfect escape after all the touring and the hustle and bustle of the city to come back to this beautiful place and be able to enjoy their they're beautiful back patio garden, with a nice glass of sherry that they kindly provided for us..we couldn't have asked for more!!

Thanks for the feedback Carrie. The WiFi info is helpful. I have a booster, which I recently moved to another part of the house & I didn't realize it had an effect on the apartment. Fixing it now. Mark

Mark's place just might be my favorite Air BNB spot. From the very beginning he was super proactive with communication everything I needed to know in order to get in to the unit without any glitches. Once we got into the unit I was amazed at how meticulously-placed everything was. There was nothing I needed in terms of household items. The place was beautiful, dry, clean, and smart (meaning everything was clearly well-planned). I would absolutely stay there again and again.

Cleanest Airbnb I've ever stayed in. Mark and Raul's place had everything and felt like a home away from home. Great spot!

Fantastic basement apartment . Clean and really well kitted out . Best part was the little garden out the back which was an oasis in the city . Hosts were around , living upstairs and were helpful and great company .

Mark and Raul were great! The place was beautiful and as described and thr location was perfect, just 1 mile from U street bars and restaraunts and 3-5 miles to the monuments and museums. The guys were friendly and helpful but gave us our privacy. I can't say enough about how nice and comfortable the apartment was! The back garden was well kept and beautiful as well. Will definitely be back next time we're in DC

Lovely basement apartment in historic part of the city. We didn't meet Mark but communication was always quick.

Mark is a very nice and friendly host. The unit is very well arrange and designed, the host took care of every corner, all the items in the unit bring the feels of home. Some gives the feel of antique, and have a very Washington style. It is very well furnished. All you need is there inside. Most important, it is well kept tidy and clean! Little notes for guidance to the transport and groceries. We felt home and enjoy so much during our stay there!

Originally from Wisconsin & bounced around the world a bit living in LA, Olympia, Amsterdam, Lelystad, Alden, London, & DC. I'm a mix of city & country. Love wonders of science, physics, nature, and art. I work at the National Institutes of Health in the Division of AIDS Research and in the Vaccine Research Center assisting with Zika clinical trials. The combination of growing up in my mom's spotless house, and years of keeping a lab nice and sterile, makes me keep the apartment very clean - I spend A LOT of time cleaning it each time.

I tend to get along with most everyone as I usually don't see faults--just endearing quirks. If I have time, I enjoy taking people for walks in my neighborhood explaining some history while enjoying the architecture, bumping into neighbors & sometimes stopping in a local gem hole in the wall.

My favorite travel destinations to date have been South Africa's Kruger National Park, The Amazon Forest, Balogna, Italy and, of course, Random Lake, Wisconsin:)
