Jan's home was great for my short stay in Helsinki. The apartment is his family home so some clutter and personal effects should be expected (toiletries, kitchen supplies shoes, clothing.. etc), which may be a pro or con depending on your sense of style. Most importantly, access to public transportation was simple and efficient.

The apartment has a great connection to go around the city, nice neighbourhood with supermarkets and restaurants around. Jan and his girlfriend were very helpful when we arrived and gave us good suggestions about the neighbourhood. Definitely a good place to stay if you go to Helsinki.

Jan is very friendly, responsive and helped us with the services they had available nearby. The apartment is a bit poorly organized as if someone lived there. Good for only sleep one night.

I work in the field of arts, with a gallery in the center of the city and a screen printing studio in the Kalasatama neighbourhood. I used to drive tram so I´m very familiar with the city and its inhabitants. I´ve got two children who go to school on the same street we live on.
