Just got back from the "Little House in Muskoka". What a perfect way to spend Thanksgiving, extremely quiet with the beautiful fall colours. The house is perfect, everything you need if you want to get away from it all and unplug, no cable or internet (decent cell coverage) but a ton of movies and board games, perfect for going off the multimedia grid. The kitchen has lot's of cooking utensils, dishes etc. The cottage has a beautiful interior, quaint, cozy with a relaxing couch and chairs nestled around the fireplace. Couple of "hidden gems" were the pool table hidden under the dinning room table and the wood/padded chair on the screen porch, so comfortable. Three bedrooms upstairs with the bathroom boasting a antique claw tub with a porthole overlooking the back from the second level, outstanding. The lake was a very short walk away and beautiful surrounding areas for those nice fall walks. Our son particularly enjoyed the trampoline. We would definitely come back to this treasure.

We had such a fantastic time staying at the cottage. Right by the lake, which we took full advantage of! We used the kayaks and the paddle board every day. A close drive to Algonquin and to local shops. We had bonfires, and fires inside whilst watching too many dvds. We even ended up staying an extra night. Couldn't recommend enough!

Place it great, located super close to the lake. The cottage is super cozy and warm, I can only imagine how wonderful it must be in the winter with a wood fireplace. Tons of books and movies for rainy days. Comfortable beds and amazing bathtub! We had an awesome time with our 5 months old daughter. Also great porch big enough to have dinner and come bed, so mosquitos won't eat you!

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Carol's lovely cottage. It was cosy, classic and rustic enough but loaded with modern conveniences to make it enjoyable. Two comfy armchairs, a nice couch, a wonderful working wood fireplace, a great dining room table and a sweet front sunroom combined to make a comfortable 4 night stay for myself, my wife and our 2 daughters. The kitchen was stocked with every kind of pot, pan, mixer and baking dish you might require to create wonderful dinners. There is a medium sized fridge and full size ceramic top oven to cook on, dishes and cutlery and utensils (peeler, grater, etc.) galore. I have to say that the furnace works very well for those nights you do not want a fire. Upstairs is one queen, one single and one double bedroom, complete with linens as well as a really nice bathroom with a tub for cleaning yourself up. The water heats up quickly for a nice relaxing bath. Entertainment is provided as well, as there are a multitude of books and DVDs galore to play on a blu-ray player connected to a smart TV in the main room. (we brought some movies pre-loaded on a USB key, but really didnt need them) There are movies of all genres including kids DVDs adding another great touch. The music player has a dock and an adapter for an iPhone (old and new) so we played tunes off of that with no issues. The cottage is a 1-2 minute walk to the lake, which was wonderful. But for a mid-winter stay there is really not much happening. I imagine the cottage would be absolutely amazing in the summer, with lots of stuff to do in the water and big yard (and trampoline!) to enjoy while staying here. We ended up with 3 feet of snow crusted over by ice and a frozen lake (my dog loved) complete with ice fishers each and every morning. It was a 10 min drive into Baysville, which has an LCBO and a General (basic) store. The Lake of Bays brewery is there as well, but was never open while we were in the area (open only on weekends, maybe?). Bracebridge was 30 mins away, as was Hunstville, so they might be other options for things to do. All in all, it was one of the best experiences we have had at an Air BnB residence, anywhere in the world. Carol answered my questions within minutes if she was able and was very helpful, forthright and a great host. A definite recommend!!

Such a charming, cozy house in a lovely spot! We had a great time sitting by the fireplace looking out at the snow, taking walks, and enjoying dinners cooked in the well-equipped kitchen. There's also a terrific claw-foot bathtub, ideal for a long soak after being outside!
