Our 35 acre smallholding is very calm, peaceful and remote, surrounded by its own pasture and forestry. Red kites and buzzards live here along with many other bird and animal species. Your accommodation is a light and airy first floor self-contained flat with its own private entrance. There is a stair-lift and a wetroom making it suitable for people with limited mobility.

The space

We have a well equipped, centrally heated one bedroom flat. It has an open plan living/kitchen area, a small bedroom (with a 4' double bed) and wetroom/shower. A good quality fold up single bed, to go in the living area, is also available on request.

Guest access

Access to the flat is via its own front door leading to a staircase (with stairlift) up to the flat on the first floor. There is also access to the grounds via a walkway from the back door of the flat.
Guests are welcome to roam around our smallholding if they wish.
Vehicular access to the property from the local road is via a 300m hard surfaced track, which is fine for most cars (I drive a Mini), but not suitable for low slung sports cars.

Interaction with guests

One of us is around most of the time to help, if there is anything you need.

Other things to note

We are a foster home for RSPCA ponies and horses, so there are usually at least three staying here, as well as our own three horses.

This is a really wonderful place for those looking for some peace, quiet and nature. The home is tucked into a little wooded valley in the hills with lovely views of the surrounding hills. Carol was a perfect host who got everything set for us despite our last minute booking. When we arrived she showed us around the farm and introduced us to all of the animals (including some very friendly and beautiful horses!). I'd highly recommend paying a visit!

What an amazing tranquil setting. In the heart of the countryside. Amazing views, walk, local pubs and the quaintest of villages. The accommodation was very high in standard and wonderfully catered for. Carol and Richard were super hosts and everything was well above and beyond the norm. Definitely a place to return to and visit again.

Thank you to Carol, Richard, Lola and Minnie for making us feel so welcome in their beautiful home. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, it was a perfect country escape from our routine city lives. Carol and Richard kindly gave us directions to find Llethr easily. We walked for miles around the scenic Welsh countryside, coming back to a clean and cosy flat to make ourselves at home, a lovely large garden with a little picnic bench which we used to have a morning cuppa and eat lunch. The tea, fresh bread, milk and eggs were much appreciated. Carol and Richard gave us suggestions of restaurants to visit for good pub grub, which didn't disappoint either! Will definitely recommend to friends & hope to return in the future.

We had a wonderful stay. Very quiet and and peaceful. Being amongst all the animals they have in their care (ducks, chickens, rabbits, dogs, horses and ponies) was also a very cool and unique experience. The location was also good - it's about central between Brecon beacons (1 hour away going east) and also the coast (45 mins away going west). Carol and Richard were very friendly, going the extra to take care of us, such as providing us with breakfast food for the stay (I've stayed in many airbnb places and none have done this). We also really appreciated Richard going out of his way on the final day, after we got (almost majorly) stuck with a car breakdown on the final day; he and a local farmer helped us get out of the pickle and on our way in no time at all.

Absolutely wonderful place and surroundings. Carol and Richard have been the best Airbnb hosts we've had so far. The place is well looked after, and the location is fabulous. Ideal location for a quiet getaway weekend. Definitely recommend it, and we're looking forward to visiting again next time we're in Wales.
