The space
Special note: events and micro weddings must seek prior approval. Please inquire for more information.

Location:
We are located in a protected valley near Puget Sound in unincorporated Olympia, WA. Quick and easy access to I-5 and 10 minutes away from grocery stores, and restaurants. If visiting in late August - December 15th, check out Schilter’s Family farm less than a mile away for seasonal activities: sunflower festival, pumpkin festival, and Christmas tree harvesting and gifts. If visiting in February - June, our place has free frog symphonies and an abundance of rhododendrons and flowers in bloom. Also check out the nearby (one mile) Nisqually Wildlife Preserve with over 800 acres on the delta of Puget Sound for birding and nature viewing.

This treehouse is nestled in the back woods of our property of 14 acres. Limited views through the trees of the main house can be seen from a distance. We do reside on site and are available to assist guests whenever needed.

Restrictions:
This is an adult only, non-smoking, no-pet space, with a maximum of two adult guests. Due to the nature of this treehouse, you must be in good physical shape to climb stairs, ladders and each be under the weight limit of 225 lbs. No visitors are allowed without prior approval.

Description:
The treehouse is approximately 200 sq. ft. with additional outdoor spaces for cooking and dining. The sleeping loft has a full sized bed, and the highest point inside the sleeping loft is 5'9". The bathroom is in a separate building with a composting toilet and sink on the ground level below the treehouse. The shower house (generally winterized December 15 until February 28th) is located near the parking area, 500 ft away.

Limited WiFi. If you plan on working on your computer during your stay, we may not be the right fit. This treehouse is to become unplugged and be in the moment.

Primitive Cooking:
There is no refrigerator or microwave. There is a Keurig coffee /hot water machine inside the treehouse with complimentary coffee, creamers and sweeteners.
On the deck is a large cooler to keep your food and beverages fresh. There is a double sink with hot water, and propane grill with side burner. We do supply basic cooking pans, pots, knives, cutting boards, utensils, dishes, silverware, glasses, wine opener, coffee, condiments and spices.

There is a private treehouse fire pit nearby, however there may be a fire ban in place through October. Please inquire with us for current conditions.

Guest access
We work hard in-between guest stays; therefore check in is NO sooner than 4pm and check out is no later than 11am. If you wish for additional time, we suggest staying an additional day.

Guests have access to 14 acres of trails throughout old growth woods. Walking paths cover approximately 1.5 miles. An outdoor shower house is available typically March 1st-December 15th, depending on the current temps. The treehouse has a private half bath at bottom of treehouse.

Other things to note
This is a strict non-smoking, non vaping rental. If the treehouse smells of smoke there is an extra $400 purification cleaning fee.
Composting toilet: ALL MUST SIT! Sit until you feel the seat compress. You will hear/feel a little click. This is the back sliding door of the bowl opening to allow solid waste and paper to enter. If you do not follow these instructions and cause liquid to enter the back compost compartment, or damage the blue sliding door by not allowing it to be open during use, you may be charged the following: $75 extra cleaning fee, $200 for sliding door bowl replacement and labor.
A potential for noise: Neighboring homes have roosters and cows. Occasional sounds of coyotes, owls, woodpeckers, frogs. Distant sounds of I-5, on occasion JBLM helicopters and train in Pierce County. These sounds are intermittent.

My passion is my family and the outdoors. We reside on the property and enjoy sharing it with our guests. My husband and I design and build everything on site. We are also general contractors, and love to work together. My background is commercial real estate with RE/MAX in CT and Sales and Marketing with Hyatt Corp in MN and CA. I am a mother of seven children (most adults now) and have been happily married for almost 25 years.
