This charming Carriage House in the heart of Midtown is an ideal location for entertainment and relaxation, located two blocks from cinema, restaurants, shops, and theaters. Enjoy a fully-equipped kitchen and a private deck.

The Carriage House is located within walking distance to Overton Park and Overton Square. In the Park is Brooks Museum, the zoo, Levitt Shell which offers free concerts in the fall and spring, and miles of hiking & running trails. It's a vacationer's dream!

The space
The high, beamed ceiling lends a spacious feeling to the apartment. It is beautifully decorated with original art work and vibrant colors. We do have a futon sofa and a single pullout sofa for additional guests, but the space works better for two people. The deck in a New Orleans-style courtyard in the back offers privacy and is appealingly landscaped.
We will use unscented linens upon requested with sufficient notice.

Guests have access to Wifi and Roku.

Plenty of safe on-street parking, hairdryer, ironing board and iron, complimentary tolietries, front and back patios, hammock, above ground fish pond, beautiful garden.
The brick walkway leading to the Carriage House could present a challenge for the handicapped. There is one step at the entrance and another into the studio space snd a step up to the bathroom. The claw foot tub might present another challenge for the handicapped.

Other things to note
There will be a $100.00 security deposit required upon making reservations. The cleaning fee is incluced in the nightly rate.
We have a very helpful guidebook to Memphis which we have personally compiled. It contains suggestions for entertainment, shopping, restaurants, and brochures which will be very helpful in planning your itinerary.
We provide toilettries, and hairdryer.
We provide milk, creamer, coffee, tea, filtered water, and pastries.
We want to do everything to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable.

Neighbourhood highlights

Our neighborhood is one of the most beautiful in Memphis. It is sought after as a place of residence by people who have lived in Memphis all their lives and by newcomers as well. It is resplendent with big, old trees. Our street, Madison Avenue, has bike lanes as well. The Carriage House is only four blocks from an old growth forest which offers hiking and biking. In this park, (Overton Park) is the Memphis Zoo, and the Brooks Art Gallery and Memphis College of Art.
Depending on the time of year, free outdoor concerts are offered at the Levitt
Shell located in the park. Two block west is Overton Square which is two blocks of restaurants, music venues, three theatres, shops,a yoga studio, and a cinema.
We are four miles from Beale Street and Downtown Memphis and about eight miles from Graceland.

We are a retired couple. Jim is a native of Memphis. I’ve lived in Memphis since the late 70’s. Jim did commercial photography and property management for years. I retired from teaching French, English, and ESL in 2007. We love to travel. I love to paint, Recently my preferred mediums are encaustic and cold wax. Jim is a fantastic cook, so we enjoy great food almost every evening. We LOVE Midtown & know you will, too!
