WINTER: - In only seven minutes a gondola lift climbs directly to 2.000 meters and gives access to the Olympic Savoie space. Paradise for improvers or beginners. Ski area between 1.250 m. to 3.250 m. 420 km of sign-posted and packed slopes. 323 runs, 31 black, 64 red, 125 blue, 12 green. 144 lifts. Champagny-en-Vanoise is ideally located for some of the famous off-ski runs in the Alps (Lécheron, Cul du Nant, Vélière) with drops varying from 1500 to 2000 m. Olympic bobsleigh and bob raft run. Snow Park. The La Plagne ski area includes over 90 km of sign-posted X-country ski trails, there are above 35 km in Champagny-le-haut. There is 30 km of sign-posted paths all around the resort.
SUMMER : - Vanoise National Park:
First National Park created in 1963, since 1936 it was a hunting reserve. Even the Alpine ibex was effectively protected. The Park has a surface of 1978 Km², a large part situated on Champagny-en-Vanoise. The park is divided in two zones, central zone and peripheral zone with 28 communes, 30.000 inhabitants. Together the Vanoise National Park and the Grand Paradisio National Park, is the largest reserve in Western Europe. The two Parks were twinned in 1972. Paradise of fauna and flora with Alpine ibex, chamois, Alpine marmot, various voles including the snow vole and the field mouse. Birds as golden eagle, ptarmigan, black grouse, rock partridge, three-toed woodpecker, etc. More than thousand species of varied biogeographically origins. Oriental and southern species have joined the panoply of Alpine flora. Paradise for walkers and climbers, between 1.250 m and 3.850 m, with 500 km of signposted paths & long-distance footpaths G.R. 5 and G.R.55 (Holland-Mediterranean).
