Our place backs to Mark Twain National Forest, which is perfect for hunting season and hiking/horse back riding on the trail system. The access just 4 miles west is perfect for taking kids swimming or put in for a canoe trip! Three other Ozark region rivers are less than a 30 min drive - canoe rental along the way. Our home is a simple farm house where you can wake up to the singing birds, enjoy a cup of coffee on the front porch, and breathe easy! Great for solo or more.

The space

This listing is a private 2 bedroom/1 bathroom, with shared living room and kitchen. Please contact us and we will do everything we can to accommodate your stay! There is also a workshop out back if you brought your canoe with you and want it put up for the night or you need to stage hunting gear for your early rise.

Guest access

During your stay, feel free to make yourself at home in the main level living room, kitchen, 2 specified bedrooms and hallway bathroom. If you have little ones, we have a pack and play and a Peapod travel tent that are available during your stay so you don't have to pack them - just let us know if you will need them! You may use the washer/dryer in the basement if you need to, but please supply your own detergent. We also enjoy shuttling guests to put in/take out spots for their canoe adventures and have a canoe to rent. Please contact us for our availability for that.

Interaction with guests

We enjoy interacting with our guests during their stay, but respect space. Please let us know if you need quiet. We are a family of 6, so we do make noise, however we observe quiet hours from 10pm - 7am. During the day, we are in and out, but are available by phone. Please don't hesitate to call or text.

Other things to note

We have Wi-Fi internet, however, it is a rural area, so if all the neighbors are streaming a movie at the same time, it can run slowly for awhile.

Stephanie and her family are just as sweet as they come. Myself and my children really enjoyed getting to know them. Couldn't ask for better hosts- oise has a dentist appointment tomorrow at 9- can you Cover childcare and take her?they gave us suggestions and really went the extra mile for helping us enjoy a scenic float strip in the nearby North Fork.

If you're looking for an authentic rural experience, look no farther. We enjoyed getting to know this young family, who welcomed us with open arms and made us feel at home. We look forward to visiting them and this beautiful part of the world again soon.

Stephanie and her husband are fantastic hosts. We had amazing time with them. They went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and cozy. The sky was lit with stars in the night and the forest was sparkling with fireflies.

The house is in a great, remote location. Stephanie was very kind host, very accommodating. This would make a great base of operations for hunting and fishing (we were house hunting, lol) I will probably stay at this place again in the future if I need to be in the Dora area.
