The space

This private room is as large as a 3 car garage. Rental car option. the room is light and open and has two beds (1 twin/1 Queen) and a sony tv, dresser, mirror and closet. The bathroom is right next to the private room and it has a tub, shower, toilet and 2 sinks. Bath, hand and wash towels along with shampoo, soap and tp are provided.

Guest access

Guests can store limited items in kitchen fridge/freezer. Microwave prep for consumption in private room only. All non-microwave appliances and dining in kitchen are not available with this listing. Washer/dryer not available. neighborhood is off limits please no walking/strolling or loitering anywhere outside the house...smoking off back porch..

Interaction with guests

Provided your host is on site when you arrive, I will welcome you into the house with a 1 minute walk thru. After that, I feel it's your trip so I don't impose. Of course should have questions during your stay, I am quite available and responsive.

Other things to note

Host has placed a security camera onsite that monitors driveway and front door entry area.

All guests can enter house via a code that will be texted to you 1-2 days before arrival. No need to knock/ring bell. I try to avoid the appearance of a bnb so I ask all guests to limit trips between car and house with volume down while outside. Please open front door and stage bags on foyer versus on driveway. If parking car, always pull all the way up to any of the 3 garage doors or 6 ft behind red Lexus if all 3 are taken. Upon all departures, please back car all the way down driveway versus turning around in driveway. If no car, please wait for cab/uber/lyft in house versus on street. Please ask all drivers to pull up to house when dropping off. I host 2 other rooms in this house so please respect a 10 pm to 8 am quiet time. Smoking allowed on back deck only. Kitchen is off limits other than to microwave small items for consumption in your room. Washer/dryer are also not available with this listing.

Great location and a great room. Unfortunately the kitchen was pretty much unusable as everything was extremely dirty. Apparently we broke all the rules so we got kicked one day early. We broke only one though which wasn't intentionally and didn't even get the full refund as we were told. If you don't wanna look like a hotel don't run one..

The room is huge! Very clean and well kept. There is a shared bathroom but it didn't pose any problems at all. A lot of people said the room only has a "curtain" as a door but it's actually like a sliding divider. It provided enough privacy and I didn't feel uncomfortable at all. The place was perfect for a single overnight stay.

Davids room was perfect for what we were looking for! A nice restful place to sleep before taking a flight at Seatac the next morning. Recommended!

First off, David is a very nice human and he's would a bit tight. He has very strict instructions about how to park, where to put your bags....basically I get the impression that he is trying to make as low an impact on his neighbors that he can. No big deal...I'm good with that. So...he texts instructions before I arrive and he wants text confirmation that I have read them. I did and I texted him back that I had. I used my airbnb app and hit the 'get directions' button that is available. Well, long story short, there is a glitch and I was sent to the wrong address. As my friend and I are trying to find the red door with the Christmas wreath and the number on the sidewalk, we trusted the gps and parked in the wrong driveway. David came out and street and spoke to us rather harshly about how we parked in the wrong place. We moved the car to his driveway and the first thing out of his mouth is how I didn't read his instructions. He went on for quite a while and eventually I had to interrupt him and tell him to let me speak. That evening it was left that I must have programed my gps incorrectly and he showed my friend and I our room. I felt very bad for my friend, she was very rattled by the whole ordeal. Needless to say, I didn't sleep well because of such a harsh arrival and I had to be up and out to take my friend to the airport very early in the morning. In the morning I figured out the app glitch and shared it with David. He was responsive and said that he knew about it. I thought that an apology for the previous evenings talking to was in order but it never arrived. Even though the beds were comfortable and the room large and everything is very clean, I'm sorry to say that I wouldn't stay here again.

The airbnb app "get directions" patch has been inconsistent in where it tells a guest to go. While I've tried to fix this with Airbnb, i've included specific descriptors of my house to make it nearly impossible to go to the wrong house. Among the discriptors; address painted on curb, house has red front door with a round xmas wreath on it. Victoria basically ignored this and still went to the wrong house across street and 2 doors down at 10 pm and that neighbor has 2 school age children. The wrong house has a white front door and no xmas wreath and no keypad on door lock (something she should've noticed since she knew i gave her a code to enter)... to make matters worse, as she was backing out she drove over a concrete barrier which sent a horrific loud car/concrete noise throughout the neighborhood. I also ask the guest to always call or text me if there's any confusion about the house, Victoria didn't do this either even though the house she went to did not match the description i gave her at all. As a host, I can't have people ignoring the rules and disturbing the neighbors I live with. Victoria then calls me "wound tight"... and she is disappointed when i dont apologize. All customers pay attention to this description...if you're paying attention and respecting what the host has communicated to you, you'll arrive at the proper house. Victoria chose to completely disregard this and yes, I was upset. At one point, she tried to tell me that all the houses had xmas wreaths on their front door, which is so far from true, it's laughable. I've had guests loiter through the neighborhood smoking and taking pictures of other houses, i've had guests string their laundry up fence to fence in my back yard. The rules I have are there for a reason not because I'm just "wound tight". When hosts care about their business and their neighborhood it's not because they're just wound tight. Of course a host will monitor the parking situation since he/she typically knows who needs to leave early etc... Victoria complains about her sleep being affected and that her friend was stressed out. i spent the night hoping she didn't wake up this family and wondering whether i was going to get a letter in the mail challenging my air bnb business. Victoria chose to completely disregard a very clear and easy to understand discription and put into motion the following events that stressed out several people.

Kind of a strange check in, we aren't allowed to be outside because the neighbors don't approve of airbnb? Also, sharing a bathroom with 2 other rooms was interesting as well. Our room didn't have an actual door to lock, it was just a sliding plastic door.

Andrea has claimed that she was prohibited from being outside. This is far from the truth. I asked her group and all guests to limit their trips to and from the car while keeping the volume down. Claiming she was disallowed from being outside is quite dishonest. I live in a peaceful neighborhood and I do try to keep a low profile in the neighborhood. There is nothing strange about this, all hosts try to keep a low profile as they value their air bnb business. I passed on this request to andrea's group at orientation and they all seemed to understand but then after her stay, she claims it's strange and she condemns it. Andrea also states that neighbors don't approve, this is also not true...all of my neighbors understand i have air bnb guests. I just want to keep it that way by keeping a low profile. My next door neighbor actually prefers i have airbnb since the house is occupied more often, which can discourage crime. Andrea should read the listing prior to booking, in my listing, the fact that the bathroom was shared is quite obvious but then she complains about it being shared at time of use.

I needed a good night's sleep after a hectic day at work and David's place was perfect- quiet neighborhood and really comfy bed.
