I won't complain too much as I was feeling too well on arrival, so that could have made it a little worse. I didn't think the apartment was exactly great. I mean it was livable for sure, but far from desirable. The host didn't do much to make the stay enjoyable, as we found other hosts did through Croatia. The wifi was bad and the place was a little dingy. Also was hard to find and had to walk through an ugly parking lot to get there. There are a lot of apartments for rents in Komiza and I would have liked to get something more in town or closer to the sea. Next time I will book earlier and be a little more careful! Aslo, they asked us to take our own garbage out...

Davorka was really kind to respond our questions about the island. Komiza is really nice and calme.. I would suggest you don't come if you want to go out and party

Davorka was welcoming at the start, however having her son there was fundamental to communicating as she speaks no english. The appartment is very basic which is what we expected however it also was unfortunately not clean and we cleaned the floors and the bathrooms ourselves on the first day. A shower with hot water was quite rare with the boiler obviously not capable of supporting the building. The location is good only a 5 minute walk from the centre and 5 minute walk from beach. Overall we loved Komiza however on our last day at 8:45 our door was knocked on and over the next hour or so we felt pressured to leave.

Komiza was a fabulous town to stay in, very lovely old fishing village with some excellent restaurants, could not recommend staying in that part of Island more highly!! The apartment Tonka was very modest, ok if you're travelling on a budget. Located on the outskirts of the town, it took about 5 minutes to walk to the main part. I'd consider this a benefit if you enjoy a peaceful nights sleep. There was air con although we could not find the remote anywhere in the apartment to switch it on, but there was a fan which was fine for keeping us cool. The bed was quite uncomfortable & very squeaky. The other downfall was the hot water system, which obviously could not handle a full apartment block. My partner managed to have 1 warm shower & I got a 30 second warm shower over the 3 nights we stayed, fortunately the weather was so hot a cool shower was a bit of a relief. Davorka & her family were very pleasant, and kind enough to hold our bags until the afternoon. August 2013
