The Victorian Tap is proudly situated in the centre of Hexham – recently voted “The Happiest Place to Live in Britain.”

Full of character and steeped in history, this welcoming inn as a friendly atmosphere, and unique charm that exudes a warm and cozy vibe, with open fires, six cask ale wickets, traditional décor and local memorabilia, reflecting the rich heritage and spirit of our community.

The space
The inn has four hotel rooms with ensuite bathrooms, located on the second and third floors. Each room accommodates two guests.

The bar, lounge and patio are located on the ground floor.

Guest access
A member of our family welcomes guests upon arrival in the lounge, assisting them as required.

Guests can access the inn rooms through private internal and external entrances.

Other things to note
We do not serve breakfast. However, there is a great café next door which provides a full breakfast service.

Free safe 24 hour parking is available on Battle Hill in the Old Bus Station, a minute walk to the east of us.

On some nights we have entertainment. A list of our entrainment events can be found on our events page - The Victorian Tap Hexham.
