Great location

Probably the most romantic setting in Hatfield! Set at the bottom of the long garden with a private patio and enjoying the gentle tinkle of the water falling over the pond's weir, you can really lose yourselves in this tranquil setting. The garage annex houses your own fridge, toaster, microwave and private (basic) toilet.
Shower facilities are in the main house.
For that extra-special occasion, why not upgrade and have the exclusive use of the wood-fired hot tub (£poa)....See the photos.

The space
The Dome is a stunning venue! It is at the very bottom of the garden and you have exclusive use of it… and the lawn adjacent… and the secluded patio which is a fabulous sun trap (when it shines of course)... and the optional upgrade to use the hidden wood-fired hot tub for a nominal extra fee.
Apart from the (cold) water supply for basic rinsing of tea-mugs, teeth-brushing, coffee-making and face-washing (use the hot water from the kettle), you also have a USB charging point, an air-conditioning unit (for those really hot days!), and a ceiling fan. There's a hanging space for your clothes to be stored, an umbrella for those British downpours, 2 picnic blankets to enjoy those sunny moments on the lawn, internet connection and a table for writing postcards home to boast to your friends about where you are staying ( ok... sending emails!)

Where you’ll be

Hatfield, England, United Kingdom

The house is very central to Hatfield. The plot was originally the tennis court for the house next door, which was built about 1910, so the property is spacious and on a quiet street. I'm right next to the Galleria, 15 minutes walk from both University of Hertfordshire campuses, Ocado and other major employers on the Business Park. I'm a 5 minutes walk from the Galleria bus stop with direct links to the major airports (Luton, Stansted and Heathrow ); 1 mile from the railway station (London Kings Cross is 22 minutes by train). The A1(M), Ocado, Computercentre, Tesco HQ (Welwyn Garden City) are all very, very close.

I love making things happen, especially if it's offbeat and fun. And there is a sense of 'theatre' about that statement having spend most of my career formerly in scenic prop-making for West End London shows (Phantom of the Opera being the most famous show I worked on) and latterly in developing memorable fun team building experiences for the Corporate Event industry. So creativity is very important to me. Connecting people is also a passion as you never know what spark might happen as a result. So to that end, I really enjoy entertaining, getting to understand what excites people and seeing how that passion can be harnessed. When it works, that's cause for celebration. I am a huge fan of Beethoven's piano sonatas and relentlessly try to perfect a couple of them on my piano, but I think it must be very tedious for a regular listener hearing the same old pieces trotted out; but I love it. I find it a way of switching off to the day's activities. The garden is a constant source of recreation, although my favourite statement is that "...shrubs, land fabric and paving slabs make it easy!" But it's still amazing how much time I spend titivating it. I'm sure I'm in denial of the time I actually spend in it. And should you come to stay as my guest, I hope you'll appreciate a rather large surprise there :-) I'm sure if someone else were to write this piece they would say something completely different! But to sum up, I specifically chose the word FUN to be the three letters on my car's numberplate, as life is too short to be dull! After 4 years of living with it, it still makes me smile when I approach the car.

During your stay

I'll be available either on site or at the end of the phone whilst you are resident. My regular guests and I are a pretty sociable bunch from experience and so we quite often have an informal party of some description. But as you're probably after the Seclusion in the Dome, that's cool too! You'll be far enough away to be undisturbed.
