My place is close to Thingvallavatn, family-friendly activities, great views, Thingvellir. You’ll love my place because of the location, the views, and the coziness. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families (with kids).

Guest access

Dear guests, you will have access to all the facilities of the cabin except two things. We have a locked storage under the cabin which we don't open to guests, also the hot tub is not part of the facilities for guests, it's been broken for some time and we keep it locked. It will need to be switched on due to risk of freezing in the tubes.

Interaction with guests

Our guests can always call us on our mobile numbers if there is anything that the might need in relation with the cabin. The mobile numbers are in the manual with the cabin.

The host was wonderful! Excellent communication before and during our stay. The place is cozy and is in a great location near the national park. Only complaint was that there was no oven but it wasn't a big deal for my group.

Quiet and secluded. Yes you need car to reach it but a beautiful cottage by the lake with all the amenities for a family. Our kids loved the place. Thanks for letting us stay.

Diana's cabin was beautifully located beside Thingvallavatn Lake, perfect for walking. The cabin itself was easy to find and very cosy, perfect as we arrived in snowy weather and had a bit of a hairy drive on road 36 from Reykjavik. Once we had found the cabin we drove onto Selfoss (about 25 minutes) to stock up on food, definitely worth doing as Thingvallavatn is a bit remote. Although Iceland is expensive (very) Bonus seemed ok for price. The kitchen is well equipped but there is no oven so we ended up microwaving pizza which our boys loved & insisted on having another night! We were a family of 5, (3 teenage children: 19, 17 & 14 who all loved the place) & there was plenty of space, (although we are keen campers & used to sleeping in far more confined spaces!) A perfect base for exploring South West Iceland. Wish we had stayed longer (would have loved a week just walking nearby). Would definitely stay again. Thank you Diana!

This is an adorable cabin in a perfect location for visiting Gullfoss, Vik, and many other places around the Golden Circle. Bjorn & Diana are great hosts and were available to help when needed. The cabin was clean and perfect. The location is stunning!

Beautiful winter views of the lake and surrounding areas as well as an updated cabin that has the essentials. Diana and Bjorn are so easy to communicate with and make every effort to ensure your stay is perfect. We cannot wait to come back again- this time in summer when Bjorn said the fishing is great!

The location is the best. The cottage has everything you need. The lake is in walking distance and has the most amazing views. We stayed a full week and it wasn't enough. We could have easily stayed longer. If you haven't been to Iceland before we can only recommend GO! It is a magical place. Words can't even describe how beautiful it is. March was the perfect time to go. We stayed with two kids and we had a great time. Would rent this cottage over and over again. We loved everything about our stay.

This place is very scenic, the Thingvellir national park is a great location to stay - easy to get to from Keflavik Airport, and very close to all the fantastic sights on the south/south-west corner of Iceland. Would be the perfect location to see the Northern Lights on a clear night - the cabin has a Deck that goes right round the house, and there are chairs so you can sit outside. The cabin is clean, warm, and comfortable. We did not meet Diana and Bjorn, but they were available via phone, and very quick to answer, and both very friendly. There is a secure key box so it was perfect for our late evening arrival - we didn't have to feel bad for making them come out to meet us with the keys! Great place, we all had a great time, can easily recommend this to anybody wanting to explore Iceland on a bit of a budget!
