Thank you for your staying with us, although it was short. Some of the windows do have burglar bars, those windows are the most vulnerable and are in the bedrooms towards the rear. I often battle on putting bars on the remainder of the house, but for me, to do that would also be a fire hazard just in case of emergency. Although, it has two entrances, in case of any fire (Heaven forbid). That window that is not barred could be the one thing that saves you and your family. In regards to your personal safety, Barbados is relatively a very safe country in comparison to some of our neighboring islands. But that is where you have to be vigilant. Since there were 4 of you, this is where all 4 four play a part. Have fun, but be always on guard even if it is in a hotel, on the streets, where ever. I'm sorry you had the windows closed, their was no need for that. Yes, Barbados is in a tropical environment. The house as it is stated on the description is in an urban setting and it is also stated that it is on the main road. The only way to have transportation so accessible is to be located on the main road. The great thing about the location of this house, is that you have buses that go directly to Speightstown, Holetown, Bridgetown, Airport, and Sam Lords Castle. One in also every direction of the island. Also, the back and front door does have a gate you could lock and have both open so air could pass through. Lastly, I get the feeling that your last statement was not out of malice, but I would not consider my vacation rental 'Cheap'. I make it very affordable, because as a world traveler myself, I like nice clean places at affordable prices. I never do cheap, cheap insinuates that everything in the house is cheap, and I have spent thousands of dollars to ensure a very comfortable and pleasant affordable, not break your pocket stay.
