Response from Marlene:
Check in arrangements were communicated to you in the email that was sent prior to the date of arrival. Check in times are also listed in the room profile. In order to book, guests are expected to read and accept house rules. Thank you for your email advising me that you were in Niagara Falls and would be arriving later in the evening. I did respond and advise a third time with the expected times for check in. Thank you.

Surprising and comfortable space very close to the Niagara Gorge, a mere 7 minute drive from the falls and bridges to the USA, and a short walk to downtown cafes and restaurants and nearby VIA rail station. Very quiet neighbourhood, and two friendly cats who may or may not hang out with you on the breezy front porch. Accommodations are basic and spotless with ample water pressure and lots of hot water for bathing or showering, but creaky floors and door hinges may not be ideal for light sleepers when other guests return in the wee hours. Marlene is an excellent host who offers a charming and affordable play e to stay in the heart if the Old Falls area.

Response from Marlene:
Unfortunately not everyone turns in for the night by 11 pm or respects the quiet times that are posted between 11 pm and 7 am. I do acknowledge that the house is circa 1904 and has its share of creaky floors.

This was a great place to stay! My goal was to see Canada and I only had 2 days to do it. Staying at Marlene's allowed me to park my car and walk 15 minutes to downtown Niagara Falls. It was a very scenic and easy walk (buses are available too, I just like to walk). I spent one day in Niagara Falls - and they did not disappoint! Then using the house as a home base I ventured to Toronto the whole next day (1.5 hours away). After Toronto I came back and had a great relaxing night and was able to get up and get back to Virginia with ease! Marlene even baked me muffins and gave me a banana to take on my roadtrip back home. I highly recommend her place!

Marlene is a great host. I've enjoyed her breakfasts. The location was good - close to WeGo (Niagara Falls Visitor Transportation), nearby bus & train station and walking distance from the downtown.

I am a retired from the Government of Canada and I really enjoy sharing my home with people from around the world. and I am interested in meeting people from all over the world. I have travelled parts of Europe and the Caribbean, Thailand, and most of the USA and Canada. I consider myself an adventurer, having been a sailor and also having driven across Canada alone.
I enjoy reading John Grisham novels, biographies and watching Forensic Files on television. My favourite music is Motown and also Bocelli.
When I travel, I like to know that I have a comfortable bed, a quiet place to sleep and a great shower & bathroom. My house is well equipped. More than anything, I enjoy meeting others who are travelling.
I have been hosting travellers for quite a while and try to be accommodating and helpful to my guests, offering information on free parking to the best attractions. I send an information email to guests.
My life's motto: You are only limited by those limits that you place upon yourself.
