A lovely apartment a short walk from the old town and the beach. The apartment has lots of character and was ideal for our needs. We were very well looked after too!
This was our second stay at Daniela's lovely apartment. We were there two years ago and we were very happy to find that she was able to have us visit again this year. My husband, Charles, and I were traveling with another couple and there was more than enough room for the four of us. As before, Daniela left us food items to get us started - coffee, (both instant and espresso,) tea, jam, bread sticks, pasta, tomato sauce, a can of tuna, just to name a few. The kitchen is well equipped with all one could possibly need or want, including two small Mokas, (Italian espresso makers,) yet because there were three coffee drinkers in the house I asked if she had a larger size Moka, not that it really mattered. Really, how hard is it to make two pots. Nevertheless, she showed up at our door that same afternoon with a brand new six cup Moka - But that is just how she and her husband, Ivan, are - Accommodating, friendly, (you'll never see them without a smile on their faces, wanting to please you,) just the perfects hosts! We will definitely hope to stay with them on our next visit to Pesaro.
The apartment is airy, light, spacious, well equipped and comfortable. We were two adults and two older teenagers, and had a wonderful and very comfortable stay. The availability of wifi for the teenagers was a real bonus, and having bicycles was brilliant for getting to and from the beach, the town centre, the harbour and so on. It was also great to have two balconies on two different aspects, both for sitting out in the evening and for airflow through the apartment during the day. Daniela and Ivan were very helpful and were easy to reach any time we needed them. If you're not familiar with Pesaro, the apartment is well located within easy reach of the sea and the old town centre. Cycling is a great way to get around the town, and out to the beach as there's a cycleway all along the seafront well out of town, where there are more quiet and free beaches. We love Pesaro, and had a wonderful and very comfortable stay in this apartment. Highly recommended.
From the moment that Daniela and Ivan kindly picked us up at the train station until the last good-by our stay in Pesaro was truly perfect. The flat is light and airy. Much larger than I had expected. It was lovely to have so much space for all stuff. We had bicycles at our disposal and with helpful instructions from our hosts we quickly knew our around the town and had fun feeling like locals. The location is neither in the old town nor on the beach, but in a "normal" neighborhood, but only minutes (especially by bike) from both the town center and beach. Every one in Pesaro cycles around in a relaxed and stately manner and the cars were considerate towards the non-helmet (!) wearing locals. In short we enjoyed our stay, the flat was perfect and our hosts were too. Highly recommended. Thank you both again both again so much! Sally and Peter
Response from Daniela:
Sally we are so happy with your impressions, feelings and comments. You know, hosting is not our very job just we like to get the apartment alive. That's why we always hope to meet guests who can appreciate the smell of the life my original family spent there and of which I am always so proud! As far as the corkscrew is concerned, I'm sorry I could know that it did not work properly, sure I'll replace it but I'd be glad of doing it before, when you were still there! Hope all the best to you both and thanks a lot for your appreciation, Daniela and Ivan
I can't say enough about Daniela and her wonderful apartment! She is the perfect hostess and her husband, Ivan, the perfect host. The apartment is bright and airy with big windows plus the two terraces which are perfect places to eat a meal. The apartment has everything one could possibly need and the three bikes are a BIG plus. I might add that the bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in! When we arrived Ivan was there to let us in and show us around. There were maps and brochures of things to do and see in the area. We have been going to Pesaro almost every August since 1985, and although we knew of the weekly Tuesday market we did not know that there is also a Thursday produce market and another outdoor market the third Sunday of the month. All of these just a three minute walk away. We were familiar with the bike path from Pesaro to Fano, but didn't realize there are other bike paths in Pesaro. They have a map showing them all - our favorite was a four mile path along a river. Beautiful. As for the location of the apartment, we found it to be ideal. It is not in the center nor on the beach, but as the description says, these are just a very short walk away. The beach in less than 10 minutes, (unless you use the bike and then it is less than five, closer to three,) and the Teatro Rossini, in the center, is also about a 10 minute walk. The neighborhood is lovely and very quite, (not always the case if you are staying at a "sea front" hotel.) Although the train station is only about a 12 minute walk from the apartment, (we walked there when we arrived,) Ivan kindly offered us a ride the morning we left. We took him up on it since it was just about ready to start raining. It was a perfect week, in a perfect apartment, with meeting two people we now consider as friends rather than just, "The people who own the apartment." I highly recommend a stay there. You will never want to stay anywhere else when going to Pesaro, be it for the beach or the Rossini Opera Festival.
Daniela and Ivan are excellent hosts - always helpful and welcoming, but never interfering. We all (2 parents and 2 grown-up kids) found this to be a delightful, charming apartment which is well proportioned and with plenty of space. All the pictures and furniture add to the character of the flat. The kitchen is well equipped. It is at most a ten minute walk to the very centre of the historic area of Pesaro, which has plenty to offer. The art gallery had a very interesting exhibition, and the museum has some great Roman exhibits in it. We enjoyed strolling around the streets and there were musicians playing a number of the nights in August - jazz, percussionists, and also opera projected in Piazza del Popolo. We had a fabulous meal at the Felice e Contenti restaurant - much recommended. We particularly enjoyed the free sandy beach just south of the town, which we reached by car, but there were also free courtesy buses taking you there every half hour from the centre. And you can walk to it, or reach the concession beaches more easily - it depends what kind of beach experience you want. The swimming here is very good too - and safe. We also enjoyed visiting Fano and Gradara, and the string of picturesque villages with marvellous views on Route 26, inland, which we discovered from a brochure in the apartment. We love the Marche area, which seems very genuine as well as having many scenic spots. Many Italians take holidays in Pesaro and this helps to keep the quality of food in the shops and restaurants. We hardly saw any fellow English people there - which we liked! Thank you, Daniela, for the chance to stay in this great apartment.
Our week at the Pesaro apartment was just amazing! Daniela's flat was far more spectacular then we anticipated. I really don't think the pictures provided do it justice. We were extremely comfortable and lacked for nothing. The kitchen has all you need to make meals if you so desire, and there are these two great balconies to choose from for having morning coffee or for sipping wine in the afternoons. The location is perfect. You're easily within walking distance of the medieval centre of town as well as the pristine beaches. And as for the hosts of this magnificent lodgement, I can't say enough good things. We missed our train connection in Bologna and ended up being very late in arriving, with no way of telling our hosts about our predicament. Daniela's husband actually went to the train station to look for us. Daniela even called our home in Canada to see if everything was OK with us. When we finally arrived, Daniela and her husband Ivan showed us around the apartment and told us how everything worked. They had even left us breakfast for the following morning. When we told them we were starved, Ivan insisted he drive us into the centre of town and recommended a restaurant which was excellent. It was raining, so he gave us an umbrella. He made sure we knew how to get back. Daniela and Ivan left us the use of two bicycles which came in very handy, and agreed to make cab arrangements for us for our departure. When it turned out there was some kind of cab shortage due to a train derailment, both Daniela and Ivan contacted us to make sure we knew about this and then checked to make sure we made it to the station safe and sound. I don't think you could find more gracious hosts or a more fabulous apartment. We were 110% satisfied.
