Walking distance of Westerpark, Jordaan, Amsterdam-Noord, Haarlemmerstraat, Amsterdam Central Station.

Quiet neighborhood, the street is prohibited for cars and is a side street from the water side. Amsterdam CS station (5 min.) and De Dam (10 min.) cycling from the apartment. Tram 3 stops around the corner. On the other side you'll find the ferry to Amsterdam-Noord (NDSM Wharf). Nearby are good options for dinner and drinks.

My apartment is situated in the Zeeheldenbuurt, if you'll translate it literally it would turn into Sea Hero Neighbourhood (although I'm not sure if that's proper English). It's part of district West and surrounded by Haarlemmerbuurt, Houthavens & Spaarndammerbuurt. The area originates from the 17th Century and was primarily developed to create warehouses for salt, flour and leather products. As of late 1800 the warehouses and other buildings changed into houses as the city expanded and need for housing increased.

Tram line 3 to Zoutkeetsgracht runs through a large part of the city, take this line and exit at final stop Zoutkeetsgracht.

We loved staying in Amsterdam at Renée's and wish we had a longer time to visit and experience the city. The flat is very near to transport, only a 10-15 min walk from Centraal. A quiet area with lovely gardens and of course nearby to the water. We were left some delicious stroopwaffles that didn't last more than a couple of days! There is a washing machine and a hair dryer, plenty of towels for use. The weather was gorgeous during our stay. We wound up being quite a feast for the infamous Amsterdam mosquitos so we tried to keep the windows closed the whole time.

I moved to Amsterdam in 2013 only to stay for a short while but four years later I'm still here. There's so much going on that I'm not tired of it (yet) ;) I hope you experience the same,
