Coco's Garden Master Bedroom is the master bedroom of a vintage early-Independence period Manila home, a rarity in Manila at this point in time. You will experience old-world style that is almost impossible to find in modern Manila.

The space

This is the upstairs bedroom at our home, Coco's Garden.

Coco's Garden Master Bedroom Manila is the upstairs bedroom in a vintage home in a quiet corner of the Paco District of old Manila. The ceilings are tall, with windows all around looking out into the garden. Hardwood floors.

Intramuros, Ermita, Malate and Makati are a few kilometers away, and access to public transportation is easy. The Master Bedroom has its own restroom, with a sink, a toilet, and a shower (with hot water). The room is air-conditioned, with access and use of the house's kitchen and garden. The room has Cable TV and broadband wifi.

The local Robinsons mall has the usual fast-food outlets, while a little farther away at Paco Park you can find My Kitchen (Italian) and the Old Swiss Inn. If you're interested in a local cooking lesson, I can arrange a teacher (for a fee). Airport pickup/drop-off can be arranged for ($25 US each way).

Smoking is not allowed in the bedrooms, but is fine in the restrooms and the patio or garden.

Professional in-house massage by a local agency employing the blind is available.

If you need a car/driver, I may be able to assist you.

This room is not appropriate for pets.

Guest access

As our guest, you will of course have your private room and private restroom. The rest of the home is shared space, including the kitchen, the living area, and the garden/patio.

Interaction with guests

As you will be staying in our home with us, you can expect us to be available for your questions or needs related to your stay with us and your time in the Philippines.

Other things to note

We have 5 dogs and 3 cats, all of whom will seek your attention. They all live in the garden.

1. Electricity: The Philippines has among the highest electricity rates in Asia, so please help us to conserve.
2. Air conditioning: Please do close the windows well, and if you leave the house for the day, please turn off the a/c. Using the fans will help circulate the cool air.
3. Food/trash: Do not put any food or degradable materials in the trash bin as this attracts insects. These types of waste can be left at the kitchen sink for disposal.
4. Shoes: Please leave your street shoes at the downstairs entrance. We do not allow street shoes in the house.
5. Smoking is allowed in the restrooms, screened patio, and garden.
6. Please do not feed the cats or the dogs (without our approval)
7. Unregistered daytime guests are welcomed, but unregistered overnight guests are discouraged.
8. If you have any valuables that you would like to have secured, please let us know.
9. This bedroom has a thin hardwood floor, so heavy footsteps and excessive TV volume carry to the guestroom. Please be mindful and considerate of the downstairs guest.

We only stayed at Coco's for 1 night whilst transiting through Manila but it's a great place. The building is lovely and filled with really interesting furniture. We couldn't find anyone to give the keys to when we left, or to help with getting a taxi but did manage to flag one down at the end of the street. Very cute dogs too and Greg was helpful with advising where to go out in Manila.

We were only there for a couple of hours but it was a great experience. The house is very unique and fascinating and we managed to see Greg when he popped in from a historical tour, he very kindly offered us a lift to Intramuros, recommended a great place to eat and we even joined his next tour. Greg was very helpful, especially when we left and had to get a taxi in the early morning. Great find!

This is the second time we stayed at Gregs, this time was in the Master Bedroom. It was a perfect place to finish off our trip to the Philippines. The room is very clean, spacious and peaceful, a great escape from the busy streets of Manila. It's beautifully decorated and has a large comfy bed, exactly was we needed before our 15 hour flight. If you are visiting here for the first time make sure you have a map as taxis drivers can be a bit sketchy with street names and knowledge of the area. Expect to pay between 150-300pesos to Gregs from the airport, anymore than this and they are ripping you off. Greg is a pleasure to have a chat with, he is very accommodating and helpful and we felt as his place was a home away from home. Definitely recommend both rooms.

He is a brilliant host. I really cannot recommend staying at Greg's place highly enough. It is so spacious and gorgeous and Greg is so knowledgable about the city and the history of the city. The house has a lovely calm atmosphere that it can make it hard to tear yourself away.

2nd time back here in a month. The experience of being in Greg's gorgeous house is incredibly restful and wonderful. The rooms are huge, the furniture is exquisite and Greg a font of knowledge about all things Manila. Couldn't have been a more pleasant entry and exit to our trip to the gorgeous beaches of Palawan

An amazing place to stay, and the perfect stop after a long flight. Greg made us feel at home and was very open and helpful. Would highly recommend. The bedroom was roomy, comfy and I don't think either of us moved we slept so well.

Greg's house is simply the most beautiful house I have ever seen.It is so elegant and tasteful without being intimidating.. i stayed there for four nights and my two grown up children joined me at the end. Greg could not have been kinder and more helpful . I Cannot imagine a better place to stay in Manila because it is in a lively and interesting area and yet is an oasis of calm and tranquility. I cannot recommend Co Co garden highly enough.

Manila has been my home since 1988, though my first Philippine travels were in Mindanao starting in 1983. Since then, I've travelled all but 6 of the Philippine's 81 provinces. The city of Manila has changed tremendously in recent decades, and there are few homes like ours lef…
