Our place is a quaint little 370 sq ft cottage that was built in the 1930's. It sits right on Pettingill Pond and has its own dock. It also has a completely renovated Minnie Winnie as a guest bedroom. It is 35 minutes to Portland, Maine and is a stones throw to Sebago Lake and Little Sebago Lake.

The space

It is important to me that everyone who stays has a wonderful visit! Because of that, I want to be sure to point out a few quirky things about our little cottage so that I can be sure that our guests know exactly what to expect. This cabin has no separate bedroom. It is all one open space with a large king sized bed as well as a futon sofa that could be used for kids. There is no privacy between the futon and king sized bed, so this may not be comfortable for two adult couples. The only private space with a bed is our "guest bedroom" in the Minnie Winnie. The Minnie Winnie does not have its own bathroom however. The only shower is an outside shower, and the only heat source is a small space heater. It is truly a seasonal cabin and we love that about it!

The cottage is five minutes to grocery stores and anything else you could possibly need. You have many options for hiking, including Sebago Lake land reserve biking/walking trails. We are also 20 minutes to Naples where there is plenty to do with kids and plenty of good restaurants to choose from. There is plenty of private parking.

We have two stand up paddle boards and a canoe available for guests to use. Please bring life jackets for the kids. We have a few adult life jackets available.

We do not allow campfires or fireworks. Use of either will result in loss of security deposit.
You must bring your own life-jackets for children and they must be wearing them at all times when using the canoe or paddle boards.
Please use only earth friendly shower products as our outdoor shower is very close to the pond. Our pond is lovely and we want to keep it that way. Chemicals can destroy ponds. We love our dogs and want you to be able to bring tours along. We ask that you please pick up after your pet and dispose of it properly.

Amenity limitations - We have hot water but it is a very small tank. Our outdoor shower will give you about 3-4 minutes of hot water. There is no inside shower.

Quirky camp experience but with all the amenities within reach.

Great, quiet place on a beautiful lake. Loons calling, clean water, clean and comfortable cabin - what more can one ask for? Cabin is small, but we preferred to focus on its coziness rather than its limitations!

A beautiful cottage about 40 minutes out of downtown Portland, close to supermarkets and numerous walks and hikes. The hammock and outside chairs overlooking the pond were a nice touch, as was the outdoor seating area and barbeque. Jill and Marcel were great communicators, and very easy going.

This was an absolutely wonderful vacation for me, my husband, our two children (eight and seven), along with our friend and her daughter (also eight). You have to be willing to shower outside and use the kitchen sink as your only sink...and the Minnie Winnie (while sporting one of the world's most comfortable beds) does not have a bathroom, so there may be some midnight strolls back to the house. But if you're idea of fun is living on a lake with beautiful clean water, using canoes and paddleboards, and hearing loons in the morning, this place is it. We really, really loved it. Also, while you're in the woods, there is a robust little shopping area just minutes away with a grocery store and a Walmart. So you get the feeling of being off the grid while really being close to amenities. Portland is only a half hour drive, too. Can't say enough good things! Terrific place, would go back again in a heartbeat.
