The location in the hills of the Valle de Guadaloupe was beautiful and overall we really enjoyed our stay here. The host Alejandro was very available to help us with any questions and the breakfast was tasty. Our only real complaint was the peacocks that called to each other at all hours of the night and morning.
The grounds of this place are unlike any we've ever seen, there seems to be no end to the delights you can find: windy little paths and bridges, pergolas, terraces, gazebos, the pool area, and so many plants and flowers. When we were here, there were about a dozen male peacocks in their full livery roaming around the property. Depending on the time of year, ask the owner whether they are around because they are quite a sight. Then there is Merlot, the 170 lbs Saint Bernard, who is quite friendly. Everything is beautifully furnished, clean and tasteful. Only downside: the wifi signal was not as strong as we hoped.
Great place to stay while exploring the Mexican wine country. All the peacocks and kitties running around were beautiful. We made a reservation very last minute and they were able to welcome us with no problem. It was quiet because it was off season, but still lovely. They even gave us a heater late at night when we were cold. lovely.
The place is incredible, with a lot of character. The fact that we had it all for ourselves made it even better. There's a lot of space, and the room looks exactly as the photos show. We went during the low season apparently, it was a bit cold, and it was difficult to find places to eat in walking distance. We had to drive for about 15-20 minutes sometimes. We did not mind because we preferred to be in a quite and kind of secluded place. We had some issues with internet and water in the room that were quickly solved by the host.
Our stay here was a last minute book for New Years Eve. I would say the place has a lot of potential but the grounds were a little run down. The room was clean and acceptable for one night. There is no heat except for a portable propane heater which unfortunately I felt was unsafe for extended overnight use. At no fault of the owner we did loose water overnight and thru the morning due to a pump failure. This was an inconvenience for sure. The owner did comp $40 for the night due to this however I think the price is a little inflated for what you get. The Peacocks were super cool though and like I said this could be a great place with some TLC to the grounds and the room was clean.
