Nipton is the gateway community to the Mojave National Preserve, 1.4 million acres of beautiful California desert and solitude.

The eco-lodges are comfy rustic with basic clean accommodations. You drive right up and instantly you are camping in a beautiful secure remote location without any hassle. It is a perfect base from which to explore the Mojave National. The nights are very magical with unsurpassed star gazing and weather permitting campfires. Staying in remote Nipton is unique.

Area is going through major renovation and becoming more commercialized. While the hosts were kind, we found the experience underwhelming, and found the train noise/construction particularly stressful.
