Room in a bungalow

Your own room in a home, plus access to shared spaces.
Located centrally in the National Forest we are in a quiet and peaceful semi-rural position, on the edge of the Staffordshire, Derbyshire border, yet close to town. This is an ideal spot to explore the Derbyshire peaks, or for visiting any of Staffordshire's major tourist attractions (such as Alton Towers, the National Memorial Arboretum, and St Georges Park), and is ideal for ramblers, business travellers, and holidaymakers alike, however, connectivity could be difficult without own transport.

The space
COVID19 PROTECTION.
To ensure maximum hygiene, all surfaces are sanitised between guests, and all bedding--including pillows, quilt, and mattress protector are changed.
The guest accomodation is totally seperate from our own.

We are a retired couple, who offer a double room, overlooking green space. The main bedroom price per night is for 1 or 2 person, in addition you will be able to enjoy a PRIVATE bathroom, and sitting room, on the ground floor, with patio access to a secluded rear garden with water feature and decking for al fresco dining in summer. The living room space is available to guests, and has a TV/DVD. It also has a microwave and toaster, and a small fridge, and cutlery along with crockery to enable guests to prepare simple evening meals for themselves.

The listing is for one guest, or two, sharing the double bedroom. In the event that a guest would be uncomfortable sharing the double bed, the sitting room sofa bed is available, at an extra £10. However, the sofa bed is more suitable for younger people.

A pet is allowed for an extra £5 per night, payable to your host on arrival.

DURING THE WINTER MONTHS THE HEATING IS OFF FROM 9.00 am TO 5.00 pm. IF NEEDED ON DURING THE DAY, THEN GUESTS MUST PAY £10.00 per day.

Tea and Coffee is available if required.

Guest access
Guests on arrival are given a key, which enables them to enter the property from the rear, directly into their sitting room. This way, they don't need to come through the front door.
Guests have exclusive use of a full half of the house, with no adjoining walls. This consists of a double bedroom (upstairs), ground floor PRIVATE bathroom and a PRIVATE sitting room with a sofa .You are welcome to use rear gardens which has seating. Guest's may take their own food in the sitting room, or outside in the summer, depending on the weather.

During your stay
We are around much of the time, so interaction, or conversation, can be as much, or as little, as you require. If guest's need anything, or advice of any sort, they just have to knock the door, and we will be available.

Other things to note
We provide an extensive up-to-date folder detailing local amenities, walks and tourist attractions and are happy to offer any personal advice to help you make the most of your stay with us.

Neighbourhood highlights

Our semi-rural location means that we overlook countryside and yet are only a 20 minute walk into the centre of town. We are a stone's throw away from the river Trent which has beautiful riverside walks and countryside walks are also right on our doorstep. Canal walks and forestry centres and reservoir lakes are close by as is the National Memorial Arboretum. Day trips out are quite manageable to the Peak District National Park and also the Cotswolds.
