Everything was as perfect as it could be, what a delight this place is! We stayed two nights, it was a great place to stay for doing the day trip to St. Pierre, and our hostess Donna provided an early breakfast and great travel tips for that. They have a sweet little dog who is friendly and obedient. Not the slightest detail overlooked... this is THE place to stay on the Burin peninsula, and only a ten minute drive to the St Pierre ferry. Very quiet and beautiful setting!

Bruce and Donna were perfect hosts. The apartment we had was immaculate, and came complete with a full-size washer and dryer, which was great for us at this point in our Newfoundland road trip. This is a perfect staging location if you are planning to take the ferry to St. Pierre and Miquelon, and much nicer than local hotels. Did I mention the breakfast? Superb!

You won't find better hosts than Donna and Bruce. To cite just one example, I inadvertently dropped a cherished fountain pen on the ferry from Fortune, NL, to St. Pierre et Miquelon. After we had already returned from St. Pierre and moved on to St. John's, the ferry's captain found the pen and and brought it to the ferry office in Fortune. Donna went down and retrieved the pen and mailed it back to me in the U.S. That goes well beyond even excellent customer service. And that's what you can expect.

Although secluded, our beautiful garden getaway was only a 5 minute drive from Grand Banks and 10 minutes to the Fortune where we caught our ferry to St Pierre. Our hosts were amazing and paid attention to every detail. Bruce brought us homemade butter tarts our first night. Coffee, tea, drinks and laundry provider FOC. This B and B is run with love - you are a guest, not a customer. Amazing breakfast included!

Quiet and comfortable set amidst beautiful gardens. We enjoyed a peaceful evening at Bruce's place. We were able to do a load of laundry which was great too. Bruce cooked us a hearty breakfast early in the morning before we set off for St Pierre. Highly recommended.

After traveling for 2 weeks it was wonderful to stay at a place that provided all the luxuries of home! Donna greated us when we arrived and showed us "The Cottage". It was beautifully decorated, the bed was perfect with Egyptian cotton sheets and the towels were just as soft, there was a small kitchen with new washer & dryer, a phone and the sweetest card from Donna! He even sent us on our way with a snack for the drive! Definitely a highly recommended B & B!!
