My place is good for families (with kids) and big groups.
From its envious position at a cool elevation of 1000 feet on the slopes of Mount Hualalai, to its 270 degree panoramic views of Keauhou Bay and miles of the Kona coastline, this secluded luxury estate on 5 fenced and gated acres is surrounded by lush, tropical foliage. It has been said that this architecturally significant residence boasts the most amazing views available on the Big Island. The residence was also featured on the cover of Island Home magazine. Privacy and security are assured from the moment you enter the gate and proceed down the sweeping, palm tree lined drive to the main residence.
Upon entry to Hale Wailele you are greeted by magnificent koi ponds and the sound of waterfalls in your private courtyard.
MAIN HOUSE LIVING AREA: The Great Room features 18 foot vaulted ceilings and an open floor plan that encompasses a gourmet kitchen and dining/living areas. The interiors have been professionally designed and offer a luxurious yet comfortable respite. Floor to ceiling pocket doors open onto the lanais to bring the outdoors in. The gourmet kitchen will be the envy of any chef and is equipped to host parties large or small. The kitchen features a large island and a handy breakfast bar where guests can gather and chat with the chef of the party. Adjacent to the kitchen is an intimate media room and an open air tropical bar perfect for pre-dinner cocktails.
OUTDOOR LIVING AREA: Over 2000 square feet of travertine lanais flow seamlessly around the home. Both covered and open air patios feature plush chaise lounges and resort style furnishings surrounding the custom infinity edge pool and spa. This area is perfect for enjoying the beautiful Kona sunsets while sipping a tropical cocktail. The fun does not end after the sun sets as the area magically comes to life with the lighting of the tiki torches. Arrange your own private Luau complete with Hula lessons and fire dancers. Ideal location for intimate weddings.
SUITES OF THE HOUSE: The house is comprised of 3 separate pavilions which are connected via travertine walkways. The King Master Suite with his and her bathrooms is housed independently in pavilion 1. Pavilion 2 houses the main living area as well as two additional King bedded suites. Pavilion 3 houses the 4th King bedded suite (aka Ohana).
All of the suites are equipped with private bathrooms, televisions as well as their own outdoor lounge areas. It is rare to find a vacation rental where up to 4 couples can retreat to their own private spaces.
There is no need for air conditioning in this home as the near constant trade winds fan a delightful gentle breeze over the property. If you are looking for absolute luxury in a breathtaking setting than this Hawaiian vacation rental has it all. You will never tire of gazing at the magnificent views and swaying palm trees while enjoying the cool tropical breeze.
If you can tear yourself away from this property the Kona coastline is waiting to be explored.

Other things to note
We carefully picked this property, however we were surprised of it's beauty, view, detail to design and luxury furnishings. The whole property is "eye candy". My guests did not want to leave and we plan to come back to this property again very soon, as well as look to stay in the sister property in New Zealand. The caretakers Steve and Heather are so helpful in everyway. I feel they are like Ohana. I do not give reviews generally and we do travel 5 star. Let me say we were impressed! We will remember this trip the rest of our lives.

Every year we and 3 other couples travel somewhere nice for a week. We stay in very nice places and are used to luxury. Hale Wailele was a notch or two more spectacular than any place we've stayed in. Period. The view to the ocean has to be one of the absolute best anywhere on the Kona coast. The terraces and infinity pool are breath-taking. Two of the four bedrooms are just incredible, and the other two are certainly more than fine for anyone. Kitchen and furnishings are first-rate. The property managers live just up the hill and are wonderfully pleasant and responsive. The owners apparently spent a considerable sum improving this property and they did everything perfectly. If you like to walk, there is no place to do so without crossing the highway (which isn't that hard). OK, I just described the only thing I can think of that isn't perfect. I'm not sure you can find a place at any price that would compare. I suspect the owners will start raising the price as they get more experience and demand, and they should. I debated whether to write a review at all since I'd love for this to be our secret, but that wouldn't be fair to the owners!

This property was just beautiful! My family of 9 and I just loved everything about the house. On arrival we were met with chilled champagne and assorted cheeses. Everything about this property was luxurious. It had multiple outside sitting areas to enjoy and was extremely private. You would swim in the heated pool and look down over trees to the ocean below. Could see whales passing by. The koi ponds were so much fun. My grandchildren just loved feeding them. Then us adults loved interacting with them. Heather would bake goodies and deliver fresh flowers for us to enjoy. Steve took care of all our needs and then some. This property was over our expectations. Can not wait to visit again.

We spent spring break with our two kids (12 and 14) here last March. It was one of the best vacations we have ever had. The property is designed for ultimate privacy, relaxation and luxury. We have travelled extensively throughout Hawaii and Europe, and this property was definitely one of the best we have ever stayed at. The kitchen was incredibly well-appointed (they even had a quesadilla maker, a definite hit with the kids!). The property was extremely clean and well-maintained. The kids really enjoyed feeding the Koi every morning. Caretakers Steve and Heather were absolutely fabulous - they made sure we had everything we needed, were great resources for local restaurants and attractions, and were very respective of our privacy. They even showed our kids where to look for eggs from the feral chickens that wander the areas outside the main property area, and left my husband a special "surprise" on his birthday. We will definitely go back to Hale Wailele again and again. It feels like our "home away from home" now!

I feel lucky to help people find their perfect vacation home and make it my goal to make the entire process as smooth as possible.
