Our shepherds cabin is equipped with underfloor heating to give this cosy cabin year round warmth. For really chilly days, or just the enjoyment of the glow, a log burner sets the scene for a romantic break in the Cornish countryside. A complementary basket of logs, firelighters and kindling together with lighter and the heatproof glove provided will get you started with a roaring fire upon arrival. The hut is heated before you arrive and you control the temperature once you're here. Separate underfloor heating at the bed end and within the living area really allow you to control the warmth in the hut via wall thermostats. You'll wake up warm in winter even without a fire in the grate.
Enjoy rolling green fields beyond the private garden of the hut and a view down to the Atlantic Ocean, rural, romantic and rustic! Ponies and sheep graze in the meadows surrounding the hut but despite all this we're just a 5 minute drive to the town of Bude, with the village store and pubs of Stratton a 15 minute walk along the bridleway. Shops, restaurants and the beaches are all close by but the rural setting will make you feel a million miles away from it all. Enjoy the wood fired hot tub in the hut's private garden, it's for 2 to enjoy but little ones can squeeze in easily! The outdoor day bed is pure luxury, you can even watch a film out there on the wifi or just lay back and enjoy the rural views and grazing livestock. They make this place really special and a night in the hot tub under the stars is amazing.
With a well equipped kitchen, complete with Nespresso coffee machine, kettle, toaster, oven with grill, under counter fridge, pots, pans and cooking utensils, a woodburner, underfloor heating, USB power points and wifi your comfort isn't compromised in any way. The private, enclosed garden of the hut provides a Weber BBQ, chiminea, outdoor day bed, a hanging chair and rattan dining set with footstools to put your feet up in the sunshine. Outdoor giant beanbags and the outdoor rugs provided are perfect for star gazing when night falls and the hot tub is heated ready for you on arrival day....you'll want to jump straight in! With outdoor festoon lighting providing a glow in the darkness of night, the hot tub is THE place to be. Robes and slippers are provided for your comfort. With adjacent parking there's no need to leave the car and trek to the hut, it's right outside the door.
Mains fed water means there really are no compromises. A powerful shower, toilet and basin is within the hut and the heated towel rail gives you somewhere to dry the robes provided for your comfort and towels (also provided) after a dip in the hot tub. Complementary toiletries include a soap, a shower gel and a moisturiser from the Trevarno Organic range, presented in an attractive pillow pack. LED candles, lanterns and festoon lighting complete the ambience, evenings here are so magical.
In the kitchen you'll find tea, Nespresso coffee pods, sugar and UHT milks, together with a freshly baked cake to enjoy after a long drive. The kitchen will be left with washing up liquid, a sponge and cloth, tin foil, oven gloves and tea towel. Salt and pepper is also provided and freshly laid eggs from our chickens. We've stocked the kitchen with all the pots, pans, crockery and cooking utensils we think you'll need for your stay and heatproof mats and washing up racks to make kitchen life easier.
Finally, the outdoor shower...if you dare! It's perfect for our sandy surfers, buckets and spades....or your muddy walking boots. There's even a covered and lit entrance porch with bench and coat hooks to leave outdoor wear and boots drying. A boot pull will help you get those wellies off without getting mucky! We hope we've thought of everything but always open to suggestions to make your stay perfect.

I'm mum to 2 (9 and 2 year old girls) and enjoy family life here in Cornwall. I love exploring this beautiful county with the family and our dogs, or on our horses, there's so much to discover. When we saw this shepherd's hut at the Royal Cornwall Show in 2016 we fell in love with it and where else should a shepherd's hut be than stood on a sheep farm! So now THE show cabin, which has been on a few adventures of its own, stands surrounded by sheep on our peaceful family farm in Bude, North Cornwall together with the farm cats, dogs, horses and chickens who reside nearby, in and around the main farmhouse.
