10 to 15 min drive to Los Alamos National Laboratory. Good for business travelers. Our house is on three levels, so you need to be able to climb two sets of stairs. The bedroom has a desk, ceiling fan, chair with ottoman, blackout curtains and wifi. The bathroom is a bath tub/shower.

If you are interested in a long term stay, contact me to work out kitchen and laundry room access.

The space

Shared bath, desk and chair, easy chair.

Guest access

Single bedroom and shared bathroom. You come in through our front door, then two flights of stairs. This bedroom is in one end of a hallway and my husband and I have the bedroom at the other end.

Interaction with guests

Upon arrival and then as needed. I am more than happy if you have questions about Los Alamos, anything from where to eat to what it is like to live here.

Other things to note

Our house is on a cliff. You have to walk up a steep drive and then two flights of stairs to get to this room

Also, we are 10 minutes from downtown and 10 minutes from the main part of the lab. A local bus system can get you to the Lab during the week, (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) Atomic City Transit for the schedule.

Dianne and Scott are great hosts! Their home is lovely and peaceful. It felt like I was in a house in a little village in Germany. The room and private bath are on one end of a hallway away from their room, so you do not have to tiptoe around. There is a steep drive and a couple flights of stairs once inside, but nothing strenuous. Dianne and Scott were super-nice, and very accommodating of my arrival and departure times. When I arrived rushed to get to dinner, they quickly helped me find a place to eat. I would recommend their home to friends and family any time.

Our stay was very comfortable. Dianne was such a gracious host and so fun to talk to. Everything was clean and comfortable, and all the necessities were provided. The area was very safe and as central as we could get to all the beautiful places we wanted to see and things we planned to do. The next time we go back, I hope we will be able to stay here again!

Scott and I have lived in Los Alamos 20 years. We both work at Los Alamos National Lab. I work in the Materials Science and Technology Division helping them with environment, safety and health issues. Scott worked in Physics Divisions for 20 years and has now moved over to the weapons world. About a mile from our house, there are one-hundred 1/3 acre lots that Los Alamos County rents mainly to horse owners. On my lot there I have chickens, dairy goats, two sheep and a llama. The bedroom I have put on here is one of our son's rooms. We are empty nesters now. We do have two bunnies that have free roam of the house downstairs.
