Welcome to Urban Abode! If like me you feel that convenience is the ultimate amenity then you will love Urban Abode. Located half a block off of Haywood in the hip West Asheville neighborhood where you can walk to dining, music, retail shops, a bookstore, and the coolest video store in town! There are pubs and even a massage school just to name a few! And did I mention that you can walk to the farmers market on Tuesday? Finally, Downtown Asheville is just a seven minute Uber ride away.

The space

Urban Abode is decorated in what I like to call "retro vintage modern." I have lots of DVDs for you to enjoy. And comfortable seating throughout. Please note that as this is a garden apartment there is limited Natural light. This is not an issue for most as you will be spending your day enjoying Asheville and all the wonderful things that has to offer.

Guest access

You will have access to the entire (URL HIDDEN) a small seating area right outside your door.

Interaction with guests

Just let me know if there is anything that you need. I am here to make your stay as comfortable and memorable as possible!

Elisa has a great set up. Everything you want in a good Airbnb experience. Very close to everything fun in West Asheville. Plenty of privacy but easy to communicate with and a delicious bottle of wine to tie it all up.

The Urban Abode really is in a perfect location. It is in walking distance of two great breakfast places - Biscuithead and Sunny Point Cafe. And not having to find parking for any of the restaurants and shops on Haywood was awesome. It is close to the French Broad River greenway and the trailheads at the NC arboretum. Downtown Asheville was very accessible. Next, it is a beautiful space. Elisa has obviously put a great deal of attention into decorating and it is a very comfortable amount of space for two people. The bed was comfortable, the towels were soft. It was nice to have a separate room where you could sit and watch television/read/hang out. Elisa was friendly, but not intrusive, which is what we look for in a host. However, I don't know if the description makes it clear enough that this is a basement apartment. It was very dark, which could be a pro or con, depending on personal preference. You can hear footsteps and voices from above and water running through the exposed pipes. Whether or not it is disturbing depends on how sensitive you are to noise. I might be more sensitive than most people. It also seems like the upstairs and downstairs might be on a shared water heater. On day 2 of my stay, I was in the shower after a pretty strenuous hike and after about three minutes, I got a real shock when the water suddenly turned ice cold. I turned the cold water all the way off and the hot water all the way on and was able to take a lukewarm shower. This was not a problem on day 1, so I'm not sure what happened. So, whether or not Elisa's place is for you is going to come down to personal preference. She did tell my travel companion that she had recently "opened a new space" and asked about the noise, so she is aware this might be a problem for some people. My travel companion works in a very noisy office, so the sounds did not bother her at all. This could be the case for you as well, but I learned the basement apartments aren't really for me.

This air bnb was definitely worth the value. It was in a great location in a hip part of town. My boyfriend and I walked to the bars and restaurants down the street and didn't have to worry about driving. We also had plenty of privacy and the place was very well decorated and homey feeling.

Elisa's place was great. A fabulous host who was readily available to answer any questions I might have and gave me some good suggestions on what to do in the area. The place was very convenient and if you are a walker like me it is only a couple miles to downtown which helps on parking, but if not it is a quick 5 minute drive to get there. Asheville was great to see and Elisa's place is very centrally located to get to a lot of things

Hi I'm Elisa, I have lived in the Asheville area for over 10 years and am originally from Chicago. I moved here of course for the mountains and beautiful weather not to mention all the beautiful hiking trails. This is my first year as a host and I can't wait to meet great people from all around the world! I enjoy visiting all the wonderful vintage and antique shops in the area and on my days off enjoy cooking and baking. Strolling to one of the area pubs with a neighbor for a glass of wine and live local music is of course a must. I look forward to hosting you!
