Room in a home

Your own room in a home, plus access to shared spaces.
Escape to our country estate in a picturesque Cotswold village. Our welcoming family home combines old fashioned charm with modern conveniences. All of our bedrooms are en suite, except for one single. Lots of history, uneven floor boards, low doorways in places and a dog and cats! We provide you with a wholesome, cooked breakfast. Bedrooms are allocated depending on the number of couples, singles etc. It is very much a home vs hotel. Booking for 12 gives you access to all the bedrooms.

The space
This rambling old house is full of character with lots of unexpected nooks and crannies. It has a happy atmosphere and is wonderfully peaceful. Bring boots or possibly borrow some so you can enjoy country walks on our doorstep! We are only minutes from Cheltenham and Cirencester so we are ideally situated for business travellers and also holiday makers.
All the bedrooms have duvets.
Please note that not all the bedrooms have showers and might just be a bathtub. Where just a bath tub for a bedroom there is a jug nearby in the bathroom to facilitate hair washing should you so wish to do so!

Guest access
Our guests can relax in the cosy living room, warmed by a wood burning stove in the winter. There is a little fridge in the lobby area of this room which you can avail yourself of during your stay. There is also a kettle, tea, coffee, and a basket of mugs for a hot drink. Although the house is non smoking, we do allow smoking in the garden. Guests can enjoy the formal lawn and terrace on the same side of the house as the living room.
The area boasts many fine dining establishments or you can get a simple meal (and a good pint) in one of the nearby pubs.
There is no self catering and this includes bringing in 'take away'. Very occasionally I will provide dinner or supper for a group of guests.

During your stay
We have lived in the area for over 20 years and so are happy to share our knowledge of 'what to do'. Our delicious cooked breakfasts include eggs from our own hens along with homemade jam, etc. Breakfast tends to be a delicious vegetarian tomato/baked egg/cheese dish. On some occasions we are willing to provide dinner by arrangement and mutual agreement. There is no self catering and this includes bringing food to “warm up” or a picnic instead, or “take away”.

Other things to note
The staircases are old and slightly uneven in places. It's a house full of character and history. The two dogs and two cats are very much part of the family so if you have allergies to animals it's probably not the best house to stay in!
Wifi is available on the ground floor but not in most of the bedrooms. There is also very little mobile coverage - depends on the provider. Wifi calling can be used instead.
The 'service fee' is not a charge levied by me but by Airbnb as their commission. It is quite substantial I reckon, c. 17%!
