Cosy cottage, great location for us as we were going to wedding in Dunmore House. Had everything we needed, Sigrid very welcoming and quick to get back about any queries.

Pros: Cottage itself was comfortable and we had a good nights sleep. The outdoor seating area was also nice to relax with a glass of wine. The hosts provided us with some helpful info on where to eat out in the evening and also provided us with the essentials (milk, butter etc) w…

The comment about meet & greet is completely untrue. As always when I'm out, John met the guests, intoduced himself as my husband, and had a chat with them about England where he had lived many years . Truth is, they wanted to check-in @10.30 am which was not possible that day and we feel the review is a "get-back" on that. It seemed their approach to other places as well, as they mentioned to John they " had to drive around some hrs" the following day as nxt place check-in (nr Ardara) was 3pm". We thought that attitude odd for tourists presumably wanting to see Ireland. We always get 5 stars especially on cleaniness, which both John & I are particular about. I was home later and, as they were out for dinner, I checked that everything was up to our usual standards. The "things moved" were bed quilts put away for their comfort & wet towels been left all over the place, which I hung on the rails in bathroom to dry. I did indeed return later (with knocking) to fetch something, genuinely thinking they were still out as place was dark & car not out front. Apologized profusely when realizing they had just returned. We absolutely respect our guests' privacy & don't enter their space unless invited for a chat. Astonished to get this kind of review from someone throwing sweets wrappers out the skylight onto the roof and leaving us with a cleaning effort unexpected from a 1-night stay. It's our home, not a hotel.

Excellent accommodation, directions easy to follow and was absolutley fabulous to have toiletries, hairdryer available when we only flew in with hand luggage, saved us having to go and buy anything. Would recommend to everyone to stay and will definitely use again if in the area.

It is, fortunately, very seldom that we have a funny feeling about guests. This was one occasion. And this completely inappropriate review proves it. We consistently get compliments from our guests, about cleanliness & the comforts we provide in particular. We gave this party a positive review, despite a few minor breaches of houserules & towels soiled with what looked like hairdye - had to be binned. Regarding the 3-star for location & value: we were surprised ourselves why someone from Limavady looking for a 1-night stay for a family event in Derry City would choose a fully self-catering cottage 10km on the other side of Derry. But then again, that wasn't made clear beforehand. Disappointing, but lesson learned. Considering changing minimum stay to 2-nights to avoid further such mis-matches.

Stayed here 2 nights with SO. We travelled by car so location was great as not too far from Derry, Letterkenny or surrounding sights. Would also be great for cyclists, or people travelling by public transport, as there is bus route between Carrigans and Derry. The cottage itself …

Both Sigrid and John are amazingly warm person. They welcomed us warmly into the house and showed us around taking their time to explain everything. Wood fire provided warmth on the cold night! When discussing with Sigrid we told her plan, she suggested us to drop one place and a…
