Welcome to Bela's House. "Bela" is what the children in our family called their grandma (kids version of "abuela"). Our place is close to the beach, restaurants and dining, as well as some great views. You’ll love our place because of the light and the high ceilings. Bela's house is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families (with kids), and big groups. We are happy to share our new home with you and hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
This is a two family home. You will be staying in the upstairs apartment. There's a fresh breeze that comes in through the balcony door and keeps the house cool when you just want to just sit in and watch some TV.
You will have access to the upstairs unit as well as the garage.
The back yard is a project in the works and is available for use. Just keep in mind that it is a work in progress. Enjoy the rain while sitting under the Tin Roof.
While you're here, feel free to do your laundry in our brand new washer and dryer found in the garage.
Interaction with guests
The upstairs is all yours. On occasion, we may be on vacation ourselves and staying in the downstairs apartment. If we're there, we hope to be able to get to know you and maybe even step out and grab a drink or bite to eat at the food kiosks nearby. A Plus for staying here is that the food is very inexpensive and very GOOD!
We love getting up in the morning and going for breakfast at Olas del Mar (1 minute walk - if that). Introduce yourself to the owners Ray & Maria. Tell them you're renting our house.
Other things to note
Isabela is the second largest surfing destination in Puerto Rico (second to the world famous Rincon). There are plenty of beaches nearby that are great for snorkeling and the center of town (El Pueblo) is a beautiful, open air space with ocean views from any down-hill road, and only a 15 minute walk from our home. Drive down the Paseo Lineal and visit all of the beaches along the way! Come experience Puerto Rican life, living amongst the locals. A number of them even speak english!
- Please keep a plastic (shopping) bag in the kitchen and dispose of any organic materials on a nightly basis.
- Failure to dispose of organic waste will result in a (common) small, ant-like insect to travel with his band of brothers and try to take over the kitchen.
- Please dispose of any trash before you leave. The house should be left in clean condition when you are done with your stay
