Welcome to Bela's House. "Bela" is what the children in our family called their grandma (kids version of "abuela"). Our place is close to the beach, restaurants and dining, as well as some great views. You’ll love our place because of the light and the high ceilings. Bela's house is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families (with kids), and big groups. We are happy to share our new home with you and hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

The space

This is a two family home. You will be staying in the upstairs apartment. There's a fresh breeze that comes in through the balcony door and keeps the house cool when you just want to just sit in and watch some TV.

Guest access

You will have access to the upstairs unit as well as the garage.

The back yard is a project in the works and is available for use. Just keep in mind that it is a work in progress. Enjoy the rain while sitting under the Tin Roof.

While you're here, feel free to do your laundry in our brand new washer and dryer found in the garage.

Interaction with guests

The upstairs is all yours. On occasion, we may be on vacation ourselves and staying in the downstairs apartment. If we're there, we hope to be able to get to know you and maybe even step out and grab a drink or bite to eat at the food kiosks nearby. A Plus for staying here is that the food is very inexpensive and very GOOD!

We love getting up in the morning and going for breakfast at Olas del Mar (1 minute walk - if that). Introduce yourself to the owners Ray & Maria. Tell them you're renting our house.

Other things to note

Isabela is the second largest surfing destination in Puerto Rico (second to the world famous Rincon). There are plenty of beaches nearby that are great for snorkeling and the center of town (El Pueblo) is a beautiful, open air space with ocean views from any down-hill road, and only a 15 minute walk from our home. Drive down the Paseo Lineal and visit all of the beaches along the way! Come experience Puerto Rican life, living amongst the locals. A number of them even speak english!

Those who stayed at Maria's before us and said the walk to the beach was 2 minutes must have taken the long way. What a week! First impression of the house was "wow, this is great". We had a garage to park in, and entry room to load and unload our daily beach gear. The house was well stocked with beach chairs and towels. We had a washer/dryer for convenience in the garage. Outdoor spigot for rinsing feet, shoes, snorkeling gear and such plus outdoor shower for rinsing sand and showering little ones. Inside fully furnished with all amenities. My morning always requires coffee and everything I needed was there. We started our week going (very near) for groceries so we could minimize costs (family of five) and eat most meals "at home". We got some little meals and drinks at the kiosks between the house and beach. We visited several restaurants in our week and was not disappointed ever. We went to 3 different beaches in the area based on reviews we read and I think all of us thought the house beach was our favorite, but all 3 rocked! After a beautiful beach day we came back for nice hot showers. We never ran out of hot shower water. The bedrooms stayed cool with the air conditioning and the beds were very comfortable. We enjoyed the upstairs deck and spent some nice relaxed time just sitting there resting.

Best thing about this place is the location. There's restaurants, bars and the beautiful beach in a 2 minute walk. The house is super comfortable, the kitchen fully equipped and everything clean. We didn't have a single problem in our stay, but Maria was very attentive with the help of Frances. . I loved The neighborhood and next time i'll rent a bike in Pedalea kiosk th

Great location, right by the beach with a beautiful view. Kiosks play music and you can hear it from the house. There a small breakfast and bike rental place where you can get a good bargain for breakfast and the owner Frances was very sweet. There's a public basketball court where the kids can play basketball and Maria even had a basketball in the house for us to use. The dust, sand and salt are tipical for the area and it's inevitable to track some inside when you walk in. The rooms are spacious and two of the rooms have working AC units. Overall a great vacation spot for the family and it comfortably sleeps 9 people. It has a queen size bed and a full size futon in the master bedroom with AC. The second room has a full size bed and the room has AC. The third bedroom has two bunk beds with twin on top and a full size futon on the bottom.

This place was just perfect for our group. There are good night entertainment at Villa Pesquera and it was close to some of the best shores of Isabela!

Bela’s house is really big and such a great deal! It was only a minute walk down to a beautiful beach. There is a strip of bars & places to right next to the beach as well; which I found very convenient. There were four wild horses in the field right next to breakfast spot we ate at on our first day there. This couldn’t be in a more beautiful location. The home was very well equipped, was really clean, and very spacious. They have WIFI so I was able to use my computer and smartphone without using all my data up. I loved the balcony with the rocking chairs too. You could hear the ocean waves at night and see the beautiful sun rise in the morning. I had a wonderful stay and hope to be able to stay again soon.

Beautiful, clean, everything you need. Balcony with rocking chairs , and an ocean breeze....great place for coffee in the morning. Amazing beach a 2 minute walk....on the way, walk with the geckos and reach for an almond on the tree. At the beach walk up on the rocks to see the white caps against the rocks :) Vendor in the square that makes the most amazing wood jewelry, key chains, etc....you can watch them make it and it can be personalized too! Sunset on the beach....not to be missed! Local color and authentic food at the kiosks...relaxing vacation
