The space
Fold Farm is a Georgian farmhouse within a quiet Peak District village. Your accommodation is reached by a private staircase to a sitting area, shower room and bedroom. The two single beds can be pushed together if preferred. Tea and coffee making facilities are provided and continental breakfast is included. A fridge containing milk, butter etc. is located at the bottom of the stairs, to allow guests to eat breakfast in privacy at the time which suits you best. The family rooms are close by if you are in need of help or information. We will do our best to make you feel welcome and hope you will enjoy your visit to this beautiful part of England.

Guest access
Your room is accessed from the back staircase and is separate from family accommodation. The kitchen door is kept shut to prevent our very inquisitive cat from joining you.

Other things to note
Access through the farmyard is shared with our neighbours so please be aware that they may be driving through. Our internet has been a little patchy in the past but has recently been upgraded. The farm house is at the end of a short curved drive from the road and if approaching from Hathersage be prepared for a 180 degree turn into the driveway.

The farmhouse was built in the eighteenth century and used to stable the horses from what is now the Sir William Hotel. Local history says that John Wesley, the Methodist preacher, gave a sermon from the steps now enclosed in the guest accommodation after being turned away from Eyam, a nearby village famous for containing the plague in the 17th century. There is a lot of history to be discovered, with beautiful scenery and interesting places to eat and drink. We have cycle and fell races in the area and climbs and walks for all levels of fitness. There are seasonal events at Chatsworth and Bakewell which are within easy reach and year round farmers' and town markets.
