My place is great for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers. In the heart of downtown, my condo sits one block from the Court Avenue District and is skywalk connected for access to almost all of downtown. Awesome spot that will make your stay in Des Moines a great experience.

The space

My condo will be your personal space. You will have secure access from our parking garage which connects to the building with private access. I am at the Kirkwood at different points during the week, usually 3 nights a week. Some parts of my day I work from my home office in the unit.

Guest access

You will be able to access the entire building, including the lobby floor which is home to two restaurants. Wasabi Tao is a great modern sushi restaurant and Vivian's All American Diner sits across from it.

The lower level features a large fitness center with, treadmills, weights, and other fitness equipment. TV's are mounted for your use also. There is also a sauna next to the fitness center you will have access to use.

You are skywalk connected! Access the skywalk via the 2nd floor elevator stop or by taking the main staircase in the lobby. The skywalk provides indoor access to almost all of downtown DSM.

I can also assist you in reasonable accommodations if you have any special requests.

Interaction with guests

I can interact with you as much as you would like or as little as your would like.

Other things to note

The Kirkwood is located 10 minutes from the Des Moines International Airport.

You can bring your own bike if you are a cyclist - store it in the secure bike storage room in the Kirkwood basement

I currently live in this condo, with a master bedroom, bathroom, and closet that are separate from your living space. I may or may not be home. If I am home, we can have a much interaction or as little as you would like. I respect your privacy and we can discuss. I have another place I can stay if you would rather have the place to yourself. I may also need to be around during the day periodically to print an item or two. You are welcome to use my office, desk setup and printer, as long as simple respect is given to my belongings. Twin screens available to increase work efficiency - you are welcome to use. Wifi printer also available on the guest network.

Location and host are great! Tanner is an excellent host that tries really hard to make sure his guests are comfortable. The location couldn't be better in downtown Des Moines, especially if you like to be in the middle of things. We'll be staying there again!

I used this as a work-retreat place to be able to focus on work without distractions, and it was perfect. The space is bright, clean, functional and had everything I needed in the kitchen. Wifi is fast. If you're looking for something centrally located in DM, this is it. A major grocery store is one block away, there are several restaurant options, bars, outdoor patio spaces, and coffee shops within walking distance (several within 4 blocks), you can easily connect to the DM skywalk system, business amenities are also just a short walk away. I especially appreciated the off-street covered parking and connection to the building. Highly recommend this for a weekend get-away, work retreat, and even a family stay.

Very nice place in the heart of downtown. Walk out front door to farmer's market, restaurants and bars. Highly recommend.

Loved this location. Farmer's Market right outside on Sat mornings and worth visiting. Central location - we loved Hy-Vee market and Exile Brewery. The unit was nicely decorated with comfortable bed and furniture. We would definitely stay there again!

Tanner is a very nice guy. The location is super convenient, and the off-street parking is a real plus. The apartment is clean and in very nice condition. It isn't the most private arrangement though.
