This was my first ever Airbnb experience, and I wasn't sure if I should rather just book at a hotel. I'm so glad I didn't. Lisa and Mbaraka were amazing hosts, who went out of their way to ensure I had a successful and comfortable trip. They exude warmth and friendliness, and I instantly felt at home. And their kids are just adorable. Christina, the housekeeper, is just the sweetest, and I loved the huge grins and waves the askari offered. A stay here is pretty much a saccharine dose of goodness. The guesthouse itself is cozy and comfortable. Despite it being out of town, it's well-located, and offers a quiet base with great views, to navigate Morogoro. I had an amazingly lovely experience, and I hope others do too.

Nice, cozy little room in a beautiful garden full of orange and tangerine trees. Lisa and Mbaraka were very welcoming and hospitable, and gave us valuable advice on where to hike, what to see and where to eat. They even arranged a very affordable guide who took us to a beautiful waterfall. Their many children and dogs make it a lively place. However, the room could do with a good cleaning. Furthermore, the mosquito screens and nets have holes in them, making enough bug spray a must. Finally, we were unfortunate to encounter a few cockroaches in the bathroom. Nevertheless, we had a very pleasant stay in Morogoro!

Response from Lisa:
Thanks for the feedback! The rainy season always brings uninvited guests( creep crawlers ) so we will double down and make sure we prep that they don't leave the garden and wonder into the guest quarters as well as our own place

Lisa lives in a very big house with her family. You will stay at the guest house which they built. It is very comfortable and Lisa and her husband are very nice and friendly. They will easily organize a trip into the mountains or something else for you. Just if you can not live without wifi or aircon (but there is a fan) this place is maybe not for you. The accomodation is not in the centre of morogoro, but this was an advantage for me, cause the people are very nice in these surroundings and I made a lot of friends! I definitely recommand staying at Lisas house!

Our stay at Lisa's place was very easy going. Everything was hakuna matata! She helped us all the time, gave us useful recommendations about the town and even organized tours and taxis for us. Her place is great and you have your privacy. It's also very interesting to have a chat with her and her husband! The neighborhood is safe to walk around even at night. Thanks so much!

We spent two nights at Lisa's place. Since the beginning Lisa was really helpful, providing us with advices and recommendations. She gave us all the indications to get to her place. Unfortunately, she was out of town with her family during our permanence, so we could not meet her in person. Anyway, the housekeeper helped us so much. The room is very nice and guests have at their disposal a small kitchen. Dogs are really active and dynamic, I loved them (my partner was less enthusiastic). The place is a little far away from the center of Morogoro, but there are a little shop and a couple of restaurants in the neighborhood. We used local public transportation and did not have any problem (as elsewhere in the country, you just need to get used to it). Recommended!

Lisa, her husband and kids were all very friendly and made us feel welcomed. Morogoro is a hot town and it would be nice to have a fridge in the kitchen. Lisa and Mbaraka offered us the use of their fridge which was very kind of them. The family pets are 5 friendly dogs. I am not a dog person so Mbaraka did his best to keep the dogs away from me. I really appreciated that. Their place is lovely and for the price they are charging, its a very good bargain.

My name is Lisa and I have lived in Tanzania for 10 years working as a teacher at two different International Schools. My husband Mbaraka and I met in Arusha and after looking to move to a less urban part of Tanzania choose Morogoro to plant our roots. We love Morogoro as it provides endless hours of adventure for us and our children; hiking the mountain trails, swimming in waterfalls and enjoying all the fresh produce as Morogoro is an agriculture hotspot.
I have been fortunate over the years to have met wonderful people throughout Tanzania that made my transition so far from home much easier. Mbaraka is originally from Iringa though spent the beginning years of his adult life in Tanga. He works as a human resource consultant for different organizations throughout Tanzania.
Our children and family mean the World to us and we warmly welcome you to Our Home.
