We stayed at this property for two nights and three days in May 2017. We were a family of 5, including two elderly members, who were looking for a quiet break in comfortable and serene surroundings. We had planned to just relax, spend time with ourselves and do pretty much nothing. For this purpose, this was the ideal choice. The house is located on the Bhowali-Bhimtal highway, among a cluster of similar villas within a secure gated complex. It is a beautiful European type villa with lots of glass windows and large sliding glass doors. There are three large bedrooms, a big hall and an open kitchen. Each bedroom has a bathroom attached, the piece-de-resistance being the huge bathroom on the first floor which has a sky shower. Hills surround you on all sides. From almost anywhere in the house, you can spend endless hours watching them being lit up by dots of light as darkness descends or being engulfed by fleeting dark clouds. The creature comforts are all provided – the kitchen has utensils and cutlery, the cupboards have bed linen, blankets and towels, bathrooms have toiletries. A guy from a neighbouring house doubles as the caretaker cum cook and can conjure up delicious meals for a small price. We paid him Rs 150 for a breakfast and Rs 300 a day for cooking dinner and housekeeping. You also need to pay him for provisions though some bit was stocked up in the kitchen. There are eateries (even high end ones) within short walking distances. We drove ourselves and there was enough space to park the car securely. The climb off the highway and into the gated complex was steep but quite managable even for a driver accustomed to flatlands. Power is erratic but in a place like this, you will not care. Even though we did not move around much, Bhimtal, Sattal, paragliding/canoeing points, and Bhowali are very close to the property. I do not know if they can arrange a car but if you are driving your own, you can reach most of these places in less than half an hour. The only thing that irked me a bit was the fact that this beautiful house suffers from a lack of regular nuts-and-bolts maintenance. Signs of disrepair abound. Its a pity since the property bears all signs of having been designed and built with taste and thought. I am sure that the owners will take care of these in the future.

This was my first time with Airbnb. 7 of us spent 3 nights and 4 days in this house and had an amazing time. Few things to note when booking: Pros -Located in a well-gated colony, it has a great location. There are good eateries nearby and you can travel to Nainital, Bhimtal, Mukteshwar or anywhere. You can get cars for travel from the nearby market which is around 2-3 kms away. -We had booked the entire house. Its big and comfortable, balconies had splendid view of the mountains, had spacious bathrooms, a kitchen with all the necessary utensils and a driveway to park your vehicle, if required. -The helper, Shekhar bhaiya, were of great assistance! Can't thank him enough. Cons -There was no water purifier or generator, so we had to buy water from second day onward and had no electricity at times. -One of the three bathrooms didn't have a functional flush for 2-3 days, however has been repaired after request. All-in-all, it was a fun and comfortable stay!
