About this listing
Centrally located in some of the best streets in Melbourne, East Melbourne is the first suburb east of the city center separated by the beautiful Fitzroy Gardens. Its quiet yet so close you can walk to the city in 10 mins. Free parking available.
One bed available in a two bed apartment. So you'll have your own private bedroom and be staying with Jeff (that's me), 35, working professional. I am usually quite busy out and about so for much of the time you'll have the place to yourself.
The place has a large bathroom and a separate toilet, kitchen and lounge with balcony. All the rooms are light filled. TV with Netflix, Apple TV and an Airplay Speaker is also available.
You are of course provided with fresh linen & towels and are welcome to use the liquid soap & shampoo and hair dryer in the bathroom. There is also tea and coffee provided.
The apartment has everything you would expect in a home and everything you need for a comfortable stay.
The weekly rate is excellent for longer term stayers and I don't charge a cleaning fee like others.
East Melbourne is a safe and quiet leafy suburb that is surrounded by Melbourne City, Richmond, Collingwood and the MCG. It has wide open streets and stately Victorian houses full of character.
LOCAL TRANSPORT & PARKING
There is a tram and train about 200m down the road. Both go to the city (Flinders street and City loop) or its a 10 min walk to the top of Bourke St in the City.
You can also walk or tram to Fitzroy/Collingwood (for Gertrude, Smith & Brunswick st) and Richmond (for Bridge Rd, Victoria St) and of course the MCG.
Plenty of parking is available on the street. You'll need the special pass from me though for it to be free.
The check in time is set at 5pm however I can generally be flexible (please check with me first for an earlier time).
There are two options to get from the airport to my place.
1. Get a taxi direct (around $70)
2. Get public transport all the way - Get the shuttle bus (called Skybus $19 one way) from the airport to Southern cross station and from there get a train to Jollimont station and my place is about 200 metres walk. You will need to buy a travel card (called myki) for the train/tram and put some money on it. One trip will cost about $4.
NB: There is no train option from the airport to the city. So the only option is taxi and or bus.
Its a home so just treat it like one.
Be respectful of the neighbours and keep the noise to a reasonable level in the apartment and common areas.
Smoking is okay on the balcony, but please don't smoke inside.
Cancel up to 5 days before your trip and get a full refund, including service fees.
