All about Helen’s place

Perfect for those seeking comfortable and stylish accommodation in a medieval village within rural France. Stunning views and spacious garden yet on the edge of the 13th century village - only a 2 min. walk to the many shops, bars and restaurants.
Luxury fittings and extra touches.
Super kingsize bed and Egyptian cotton bedding. Spacious sitting room with dining table. Well equipped kitchen with breakfast bar.
Large bath and walk in shower.
Enclosed garden, terrace, bbq and off-road parking.

The space
The gite is part of a 17th century nunnery lovingly and sensitively restored by Helen and Chris. Comfortable and stylish, with high quality furnishings and equipment. Extra little touches like luxury toiletries, Egyptian cotton bedding, candles and fresh flowers make guests feel welcome and cosseted.

Perfect for a romantic holiday for two.

A welcome pack makes it easy for those arriving in the evening so that you can have an evening snack of bread, cheese, paté and wine. Milk, orange juice, croissants, home made jams, yogurt and fresh fruits are provided for breakfast so that you don't have to rush out to the shops on arrival.

Fresh coffee beans and a selection of teas, plus a coffee grinder, milk frother, music system, satellite tv and DVD player all add to the high spec of this gite.

The cupboards are well stocked with condiments including herb infused oils from the garden, locally sourced chutneys and delicacies. Also locally bought pottery and art give you a feel for what is available in the village.

We are two minutes walking distance of the village, with its many bars and restaurants, and arts and craft shops, and the famous all-year Sunday market. Which means that a car isn't actually necessary. For those who want to truly relax, throw the car keys in the drawer and walk or cycle on the many routes around St Antonin. Walking and cycling maps and routes are provided. As are walking sticks and ladies and gents bikes.

There is off-road parking for two cars.

A shopping service can also be provided by arrangement so that your time can be spent on holiday instead of food shopping!

An excellent enclosed outside space with comfortable garden furniture and BBQ is available for alfresco dining.

The gite has its own entrance. It is attached to the main house where Helen and Chris live. When they're in St Antonin they love to invite guests to join them for the occasional apero.

St Antonin is a 13th century medieval village steeped in history. A delight to wander through the winding alleyways and discover the architect, the beautiful arches and doorways, the small stone faces on buildings around the town, then sit and have a coffee or beer at one of the bars and people watch!

For those with a car Saint Antonin is surrounded by many bastide medieval towns and villages, such as Albi, Cord Sur Ciel, Saint Cirq Lapopie, Bruniquel to name but a few. Information is available in the gite and from the local tourist office.

For more energetic types there is the beautiful gorge to walk through or climb up! Kayaks and bikes can be hired from several spots along the river.
A heated open air swimming pool with fantastic views of the gorge and tennis courts are a 5 minute walk from the gite.
Paragliding and rock climbing is available for the daring! The Averyon river is clean enough to swim in and just below the gite is a pretty island in the middle of the river which is easy to wade out to and has a beach shaded by trees, perfect for a hot sunny afternoon.

Then how perfect to come home to a cozy gite and sit and watch the sun go down over a chilled glass of wine.

We hope you love our home as much as we do and look forward to meeting you!

We're a "young" couple in our early sixties. We have five adult children between us and two grandchildren. We love to travel and do a big trip every winter. We split our time between St Antonin and a village outside Bristol in North Somerset. We love spending time with family and friends, with whom we enjoy great food, lots of wine (not always French!)and fun and laughter
